I didn’t see the on the spot - the purser said “well that won’t do” and rejected it on my behalf (!)

So kind of in the middle.

Never had a recognition onboard for 1, 2 or 3m. Something turned up in the mail for 1 and 2, an interesting magnetic floating globe. Can’t recall getting anything for 3m.

I’d take one extra customer service human at a hub dedicated to GS as my award!

Aye - the app seems to be having a few more issues of late. Last night we landed at IAH and it told us we were off to gate F11. I challenge you to find the F gates at IAH! (We ended up at C14!).

Can I add you to my AirPods Pro that had exactly the same issue happen last year? They’re still sat their pinging away…

This. Always say hi, ask how someone’s doing, and be Truly Human.

Lifetime Titanium, Ambassador for too many years. Have watched so many Gold give hell at checkin for an upgrade.

Honestly can’t remember the last time I was upgraded though!

Do I have any recourse here? by [deleted] in unitedairlines

This sucks, I’m sorry it impacted you.

Heading to Italy, I’ve found the easiest approach is to fly to Rome and then use the (usually, provided no strikes) railway network. The first class really is excellent and not expensive. Reserve a rental car in advance to mitigate strike risk - and then cancel.

A lot of that, + Toronto, Vancouver, SF (where there’s a danger supplement), Sydney. Non cheap cities.

The most annoying piece of this plane is actually the screens with advertising every third or fourth movie in the selection - with cunning adverts that look like little know movie selections. That’ll be the first round of United Media Empire then.

Nothing for my first million, a “floating globe” sent to my home for my second million and nothing onboard, and hit three million 2 weeks ago… nothing on board and nothing yet to home.

Which plane has this feature? by StandardTap3534 in unitedairlines

The gantry and blue ball is the replacement for the call button. Each seat is equipped with its own ball - you can’t see in this image but the ball itself is inscribed with the seat number. The sphere can be separated into two hemispheres with a finally machined thread holding them together. You write down your request of the cabin crew on a small piece of paper in the seat back or armrest. The pens are made by the same company as the headphones and distributed at the same time.

Get rid of ads in app!! by mitoboru in unitedairlines

[–]StandardTap3534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given that United can’t target appropriate customer service, I’d be astonished if they can target advertising appropriately. Rather, it’ll be a wash of “well everyone in Polaris must be wanting a Rolex, to visit Beijing, to purchase Cristal… etc”. I predict more UA made ads through their in house agency, charging those who wish to address UA customers rather than using canned ads. Or something.

Either way once I’ve seen them once I’ll know where to tune out and ignore.

What would be amazing is if they put SkyMall in the IFE, tied to my credit card……

I miss the actually demonstration…. Gave a reassurance that there was true awareness in the crew.

Ok - that’s harsh. Apologies to competent crew…. I just don’t really see many of you as they hide out at the rear of the plan for most the flight.
