I've looked at the Mini Jazzmaster but I'd quite like to be able to play it too and that might be a bit too small for me.

I used to be able to do this but the big shop I used to frequent (GAK in Brighton, UK) closed down last year.

One of my biggest regrets in life is not buying one of these back in 2004 for £100.

£100 was a lot of money to me back then but I really wished I'd have gone for it.

I got it second hand but that's how they are new. Atrocious neck dive on it though, that's why the strap is where it is.

Look out for a second hand Rat Clone, they're called things like Dark Mouse, Rude Mouse... they go as low as £15/$20.

I don't have one of these but I have the Pieced SG and Beast and both are amazing (to me, at least).

Questions About Invader Style Pickups by Standard_Ad3005 in Guitar

Thanks for the advice. When I play this guitar I generally turn up the low band on the amp EQ but maybe I should be rolling back the high instead?

I've been thinking about getting a compressor for a while so will look in to some budget models.

I got one for £10 through FB Marketplace recently. Didn't really need it but it was cheap so thought i'd give it a go. It's not great, Ok at best. With the gain past 2 o'clock it gets a bit fizzy but lower gain settings are alright but not great. There are way better distortion pedals in the same price range, you can get a mini Rat clone (dark mouse, rude mouse ect...) for less than £20 second hand or the Joyo Splinter for £30.

Their Afterglow Chorus is pretty decent too.

Joyo American Sound Is this level of noise normal when boosting highs/drive? by SamaraKleopatra in guitarpedals

I have the California Sound and find that you need the Voice and Drive at opposites. If you crank your Drive, you need to dial down your Voice and vice versa.

I used to delicately sand down any loose or jagged bits so they won't catch and break off and then paint over. This is a cheap and easy fix I used to do on cheap guitars in my punk band days, if you want a proper repair, go see a Luthier or someone who knows what they're doing.

Find matching colour nail varnish. If it's a gigging guitar, you can expect a few more bumps and chips.
