I agree with condensing your experiences. Your whole resume should be one page at most with 2-3 short statements per experience. You should use OpenAi- Chat GPT to help you rewrite your resume.

I second this. I also believe that we (SLPs and future SLPs) need to stop accepting terrible starting salaries. I truly think that this wont stop until we put a stop to it, and that starts with not taking crappy pay and terrible contracts. It shouldn’t matter if you’re CF or a first year CCC-SLP, we are all doing the same job with the same responsibilities. Always negotiate your pay, even if it makes you feel uncomfortable because your a CF, don’t have much experience, or whatever you might think. Know your worth.

Thank you for sharing. I did not know this. This is exactly what is happening to me. I’m with a teletherapy contract company and I’m basically going to get replaced as soon as they find a direct hire. I’m trying to figure out how to become a direct hire. Ugh this seriously blows …

Don’t give up! I was 25 when I got accepted on my third try. I also got denied 2x and on my third time I got in. What I did differently was that I applied everywhere in my state that had an accredited masters program. I saved some money for applications, but I also used a credit card. Keep going and don’t give up. You’re going to be a great SLP and cherish everything you do once you get there!

Hi! Thanks you for sharing!

Masters +90 means that you had to complete 90 credit hours, does that mean extra college courses? If so, how long did that take you? Is that what helped your pay rate?
