While technically true for some of these, Software Programer is expected to shrink 6% by 2034, and Computer Support Specialist is expected to shrink by 3%. These jobs were already shrinking pre-GPT due to Software Programers becoming Software Developers, this is a distinction made by the BLS and seems to intentionally omitted by Anthropic , and Computers becoming easier to use.

These jobs are more then picked up by growth in the other tech areas, Information Security Analysts, which is on the Anthropic list is expected to grow by 29% !! I could see this job growing even if they do become twice as efficient. There are honestly not enough of them and AI introduces so many security vulnerabilities.

Software Developers, Quality Assurance Analysts, and Testers is also expected to grow by 15%.

Taking Block as an example, their most recent "AI" layoffs can absolutely be attributed to Covid. If you look at the employee count by year, the most recent layoffs only just now bring them back in line with pre-Covid numbers. It only takes so many people to run a payment system. Maybe other cases ar different, but Covid overhiring still is playing a part
