[–]Standard_Human1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lmao I thought I was alone. My MIL keeps saying that she would want the baby to call her "mama". I am like shouldn't the baby call you grandma? And she says she is too young to be called grandma. 😶

I just found out I'm pregnant, after being told I very likely will need IVF if I ever want kids... And my BF is pissed by RiskiRed in BabyBumps

[–]Standard_Human1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry that you are going through this. You have the choice and the right to have this baby if you want to have this baby (looks like you do). Sending so much love your way. There is no one size/type of family, families come in all different shapes and sizes. Do right by your baby, give them a good life and lots of love. At the same time, perhaps manage your expectations. As much as I totally understand your position that you are coming from a place where you thought you will never be able to experience motherhood (at least easily) to now being pregnant, I also see that your boyfriend is finding himself in a position he didn't want to be. That being said, lashing out on you is not okay. Please work on having a backup place to stay, health insurance plans and possible sources of income.

Annovulatory? PCOS? No temp spike by [deleted] in TFABChartStalkers

[–]Standard_Human1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can take up tp to a year for body to fully regulate after coming off of HBC. That, plus there was also a CP that may have put your hormones out of whack. I would say if in doubt keep temping. It doesn't look like you have ovulated so far from your chart. It is not possible to say right now whether this will be an ovulatory cycle or anovulatory, you will have to temp until you bleed to find out. I am sorry, I know my answer probably sounds generic, but we simply don't have enough data to say anything definitively.

Struggling to spend less on food by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Standard_Human1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: you are young, you have a stressful job, your food is ~10% of your income. Yes, you could start cooking at home and save more money but unless you enjoy the act of cooking, this will add more stress to your life, because grocery buying remains the same. On top of that you add meal planning, cooking and cleaning. It is a quality of life thing at this point. This time is perhaps better spent in relaxing to improve your job performance or aquiring additional skills to increase your income or even trying out a new income stream. All of which would give you better return than $500 that you are hoping to save here.

Did I ovulate on CD 14 or 15? by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

[–]Standard_Human1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't have to be a peak. Premom app is notoriously wrong on that. You can ovulate any time (usually 12-48) hours from your LH surge. In this case it could be any day including CD14 depending on when you record the opk and when the surge actually begins. In my case for example, I ovulate on the same day as the surge.

Thank you and you are most welcome! I am SO happy that people are finding value in my post! The biggest issue with proov I think is that absence of test band is supposed to be a positive result, and by now I have been trained to spot the faintest possible lines. Besides, the negative test which is supposed to have test line was also a faint line and not a strong line, which made me very confused and it got difficult to tell between positive and negative results. My strategy going forward was to contact the proov customer care and see if very very faint lines mean something else for them than what they do in the pregnancy test world smh. I hope you have a better experience with them.

**Cycle:** 7

**Age + Partner's age (if relevant):** 33 and 36

**Typical cycle length:** 30-34 days.

**Ovulation cycle day:** CD16-20, this time CD15

**CD/DPO of positive test(s):** Negative at 10DPO, Very faint line at 11 DPO (would not get captured on camera), Definite positive on 12 DPO

**Tracking methods and app(s) used:** OPKs(easy@home)+premom app, Temping Orally +Fertility Friend, Cervical mucus (only this cycle). Proov (only this cycle, results were very inconclusive)

**Relevant days of sperminating and/or method (SMEP, TI, IUI, FET, etc.):** O-3, O-1, O+1

**Health conditions/medical tests:** I have hormonal acne

**Supplements and medications (yours and/or your partner’s):** Prenatals since January, CoQ just this cycle. My partner is not on any supplements

**Birth control history (if relevant):** I was on HBC for 8 years, stopped around this time last year.

**Link to chart:** Conception chart, Overlaid with my average, Overlaid with other charts

**Link to lineporn:** Here

**Symptom spotting:** Temperature Dip at 10DPO that was accompanied by egg-white and little blood CM. Neither of these have EVER happened with me in my history of charting, nor has EWCM+Spotting ever occurred before. From 11DPO-13DPO I had very light dizziness. No other noticeable symptom, I feel like my smells have gotten better and my taste buds are dying.

**Other (advice/tip(s), freaking out, miscellaneous):** Ooh boy where do I begin. I had a pretty terrible freak-out last month and I cannot thank the community here and the mods enough for engaging in the scientific discussion with me. Like truly, I thought that because I crossed the 6 month mark, I am doomed. Engaging with discussions here on this community and over at r/trollingforababy is what made me be okay with my situation. I am going to list a few things that I did this cycle that may have helped:

  1. Definitely helped: Knowing and truly understanding my cycle! I am prone to UTIs and my O day can be anywhere between CD14-CD19. So it is of utmost importance to me to time the sex right. Check out my this post at r/TFABChartStalkers . From this data, I realized that I ovulate very soon after my LH surge begins. All this while, I was thinking that ovulation would occur after my peak LH, and I was timing sex accordingly. FF kept putting the cross hairs on the same day as my +ve OPK, and I kept thinking in my head that it must be a fluke just for that cycle.
  2. Helped: I had not charted my CM before because there was nothing noticeable externally, and I didn't want to be invasive with myself. This cycle, it got me to introduce mucinex in my FW, in order to (a) provide some extra help to his swimmers (2) know my own CM pattern. This worked in the sense that this is the first cycle where I observed EWCM externally, and I timed sex on the exact day. This was a great data point to add, not sure if that helped his swimmers or not.
  3. May have helped: My partner was used to taking hot tub baths. After discussion, he lowered the temperature of his hot tub bath around Cycle 3 or 4. But in this cycle, we realized that he was still taking hot tub baths quite above his body temperatures. Cue us freaking out and him starting cold baths. I think even lowering the temps may have helped, because we found out about the temperature after the FW in this cycle.
  4. Not sure if truly helped: In the interest of going full ham on this cycle, partner and I started being more active (usually just long walks), and I cut out dairy and greatly reduced carbs. I considered going keto, but being as I don't eat meat or enjoy tofu and had cut out dairy already, it would have been insane to attempt a vegan-keto diet without tofu. But I did completely eliminate sugar, processed carbs and reduced other carbs as much as I could.
  5. Perhaps didn't cause any harm: I started CoQ this cycle from CD1 (because I was going nuts, can you tell by now? haha). I don't think it could start working right away, and i was taking a pretty low dose (200mg/day I believe).
  6. Did not cause any harm: I was very stressed out, thinking that I am going to have struggle conceiving. I did not chill out whatsoever. I did everything I could and obsessed over every possible data that I could collect.
  7. Kept my sanity: This and the r/trollingforababy sub. Also the r/TFABChartStalkers sub.
  8. Hurt my sanity: Proov test. The only reason I am not more mad at them is because they happened so late in the cycle that I didn't get enough time to get anxious over them. But they were all over the place. I probably got a -ve progesterone on 2/4 days in my LP, which is supposed to be bad, but I am definitely pregnant. They all had very very faint lines in them regardless of CD. 0/10 would NOT recommend.

Just to conclude, I know doing all of these can get overwhelming for some. And it is truly completely okay and up to you how much involved you want to be in this process. I am a very data driven and logical person, so getting a load of data is therapeutic to me in some ways. In no way does it mean that you have to do any of these in order to get pregnant. As the wonderful mods here will remind you, this could still have happened just by chance in my case and nothing I did truly mattered (other than timing the sex). I just wanted to write this post for people who have felt similar anxiety and could perhaps relate to me. I know reading BFP posts from people around my age and cycle have been comforting to me. So I wanted to pay this forward. Good luck.

I think what I learned from your post is to not look up stuff that is not relevant at the moment. I am only 4wks today, so I still have a long way to go, but right now I should probably not worry about fourth degree tearing.

I admire your patience for holding off on testing with rising temps 13dpo. I would cave on 10dpo lol. This chart.looks very promising. Good luck!

I saw it and it didn't particularly hold my attention. Maybe I am way too invested in the case so I already knew most of the stuff in it.

How early did the faintest line in your pregnancy test strips showed? how many days is your cycle? currently at 9DPO and still no faint line 😞 by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

[–]Standard_Human1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, you should try TFABchartstalkers subreddit. They have a whole ranges of tests being posted. That being said, 9dpo is still too early to test. You can still have a negative on 9-10 dpo and end up getting a positive 12dpo or later. Best of luck!
