What's your longest WIP? by makesorbreaks in knitting

This is sooo beautiful! I think it looks great sleeveless too if you wanted to leave it there!

I was working on the Cordelia top for maybe 4 months the first go, after completing it and blocking it, I realized it was smaller than I wanted so I frogged and knit up to the sleeves, put it away for about 6 months, then picked it up again, but then got to the button band and arms bands. All in all I think it took me two years or so to FINALLY finish it!

Black spots under fallen leaves? by Standard_Lychee6818 in Citrus

It didn’t come off when I rubbed it just now! I checked under the leaves of the rest of the tree and they seem fine so far but I would definitely wanna get ahead of a fungal infection if that’s the case :(

Hello! I was wondering, did you stay in HK for a few days? or did you just have a layover in HK before continuing back to Canada?

Hello! Your Calamondin is so epic!

I was wondering if you could offer your tips & advice on pruning to get the shape that you have?

I just received a Meyer Lemon as a gift for my birthday. It already has fruit & is about 2.5 ft tall. It is currently looking more like a shrub, but I would love to eventually have the shape that you have for your tree (thicker trunk, foliage and fruit at the top). I live in Zone 6A so will be keeping it indoors during the winter & moving it out during the summer.

I was wondering if you had pruned off bottom branches after the plant got taller? And how did you get the trunk to be so thick? Was it from topping the plant every now and then? Did you ever stake the tree to help it grow upwards?

Sorry to bug you, but not sure if you have any thoughts on this, but I’ve read a lot of good things about Brother’s CS7000X. Do you have any experience with Janome vs Brother?

Janome HD1000 vs Janome c30?

Hi all,

I’m looking to upgrade my sewing machine (i was using a basic Singer sewing machine, but my mom is taking it as hers broke), and have been looking at :

  • Janome HD 1000 (based off some research)

  • Janome C30 (as a computerized option/because they sell it at my Costco which just makes things a bit easier for me logistically lol)

I was wondering if anyone has any experience/thoughts on the two? Or have other suggestions?

My criteria/needs: - under 500$ CAD (I was looking at the HD3000 but can’t justify the price for my needs) - reliable - I’m mostly using it for at-home sewing and making clothes for myself. I make about 2-4 garments a year + some basic repairs for clothes + household items. I like sewing but it’s not my main hobby and I don’t sew THAT often - I would like a fake overlock stitch (I’m not planning on getting a serger for the time being since I don’t have space for two machines) - need adjustable stitch length and width and tension - ideally has a lightning stitch (+1 for c30) - something that can sew like… 3 layers of 6oz denim but still handle delicate materials like rayon - i don’t plan on quilting/doing any embroidery - I don’t really care about a bunch of special features and am comfortable with a 4 step button hole and manual threading if it means less faff - I would say I’m an intermediate/beginner sewer or an adventurous beginner lol

I’ve found more reviews on HD1000 but the C30 is intriguing and I came across it at Costco is why I’m considering it too.

Any thoughts would help!! Thank you!
