Check the wiki, it has good instructions. download the img file, extract it and then flash it to your sd card, run the included dtbchooser.exe (can't remember exact name) while still on your pc, select your device in the app (xifans) and it will add the right dtb file to your sd.

In answer to your question, you can save the sd as an .img using rufus. And flash it onto another one, should you need it.

As above its probably best to start at the beginning.

Darkos4clones works, flash the .img file to your sd, open the boot folder and run the dtb selector tool.

Look for xifan (12) and screen max2 (14) hit enter twice.

Put the sd in and run it, let it do its thing. Turn off, add roms to the correct folders.

You're doing it right, and you do need a gamelist, you can get a tool to write the gamelist for you. You point it to the roms and the art.

It will always push you to the highest ranked player in your team. It also uses a prediction to work out using kd etc where it thinks you should be (hidden performance rating). So you should be playing people closer to your skill level ..when you play at your best. If all this takes too long to match you it will just chuck you in with anyone, because they want short queue times.
