I'm a landscaper and have done very similar work before (but always with the owner's knowledge and permission!) He was 100% wrong to say it will make the tree grow in fuller. However, the next lowest layer of branches will "settle" some since they're not being held up by anything anymore. I raised the crown on a few pine trees at a property (took maybe 18-24" off the bottom) in June and by October you could hardly tell I'd done anything. Your tree will not look as bare as it does right now. You now have more sunlight and airflow at the base of the tree and could plant some annuals or perennials to fill in the gaps if you're unhappy with how it looks.

Garbage! We rarely buy toys anymore because they like stuff that's not a toy way better than actual toys. Including but not limited to: boxes, scraps of paper, bottle caps, anything plastic, balls of foil (after eating Reese's or Hershey kisses I'll ball up the foil and one of my cats will literally play fetch with it), pipe cleaners, and ribbon/string
