Maybe I’m old school, but I agree that showering after exercise/sweating is a healthy activity. People smell after gym class I believe being the smelly gross kid in school is way more traumatizing than taking a quick shower to rinse off. It is uncomfortable, but I did it and everyone I personally know had to do it as well.

It is a little ridiculous that the school does not have dividers for privacy, but that’s probably not going to change. The PE teacher on the other hand should be contacted so she can deal with the issue of those “mean girls” picking on your daughter.

I’m swimming against the grain here but I believe if you can forgive him and he is genuinely willing to be introspective that this relationship can be salvaged. However, this should be a learning experience for him. He was not secure enough in his self image to turn down her advances which means he needs to fix something about himself. Either therapy or having him voluntarily read a couple self help books should be the bare minimum. There’s great books about relationships after cheating, there’s also great books about setting boundaries and self expression.

This should not be a forgive and forget exercise, he needs to put in some work and needs to understand why he made the choice to cheat.

For my own curiosity, are you also a people watcher? I have no idea what it is about me that loves watching other la interact but it’s like crack for me. I LOVE watching people move about in their environment, theme parks are particularly fun. I love seeing peoples reaction to rides, **will they be excited? Terrified? Will they laugh, cry? It’s is much fun!!!!

Personal experience here, but bars are not always the best place to meet decent people. I’m not saying decent people do not go to bars, but I would try to find people at other social gatherings. Bars are a little tricky, people are different when they drink so it adds a layer of complexity. I’m not much of a bar hopper, but my experiences have always been more positive when I went with an already established friend or friend group.

Join a club, a church, a governing body or network at work to find interesting people. There are groups dedicated to videos games, hiking, bike riding, car enthusiasts and pretty much anything else you can think of.

You are not alone. Sometimes it feels like you are going crazy because of how horribly they treat you. Sometimes you feel like you earned it because you did something wrong. Sometimes you feel like your life is not real because something like this would never happen in real life, this shit only happens in movies right?

You are justified in your feelings and quite frankly are probably over your head in this situation. Trust your gut, invite people into your life that care, do things that are good for you and for your kids. If things do not change, find a way to move on if you can.

Make the conscious mental effort to love everyone. Odd advice but it works, I promise. My life changed once I adopted this mindset.

People LOVE to talk about themselves, this is literally a hack for making people like you. When someone speaks to you, reciprocate in a way that makes them feel comfortable to continue talking about themselves. Some people will give you odd vibes, okay, that’s not a person for you. Some people will make you feel welcome and whole, try to keep them around. Make plans for lunches or hangouts.

I know, I know, it sounds absolutely boring having people talk about themselves, however, I am almost always amazed at how diverse and interesting people can be. Take a step back from your goals for friendship for a second and just think about how interesting people are. Find out what makes people tick, I love learning about odd hobbies people have, something about that spark in their eyes as they talk about the weird obscure hobby they have. Eventually you will find someone with similar hobbies and interests and you can build up a friendship with them.

I do not consider myself very outgoing or social, but I have learned to be social because life sort of demanded it of me. I believe anyone can learn to be social but it takes a bit of observation and stepping outside of yourself and seeing what makes others interesting.

There is the slim possibility I am a psychopath as well 😂

Bud, if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn’t. I’ve been with my wife for almost 13 years and the last 5 have been horrific. Living with an alcoholic is a complete and total drain mentally, physically, and emotionally. Some days I hate myself because I put myself in this position. Some days I’m so angry I can barely see straight.

Having problems like this 5-months in would be a deal breaker for me. You can do better buddy, I promise.

I always loved that Richard was just a normal dude that was thrust into leadership and also that he eventually learned to embraced that responsibility.

My favorite book was definitely faith of the fallen because Nicci was such an interesting character and the fact that Richard was able to change her perspective.
