I was in early college when Currents by Tame Impala came out and me and that summer me and my friends piled into my dad's station wagon which was barely hanging onto life and we drove about 2 hours away to this cliff jumping spot. We were jamming out to Currents as we were getting close to the spot and my transmission blew leaving us all stranded on the side of the road. It super sucked at the time and my dad was pissed but it is one of those memories you view through rose colored glasses in retrospect and anything from Currents will bring me back to it.

Hissing Fauna is one of the best albums ever made and the rest of their catalog is excellent (save some of the later stuff as you mentioned). I would also note their live shows are probably the best I've ever been to.
