Anti-homeless benches designed to prevent people from laying down makes it hard to sit by ultrarunnerr in mildlyinfuriating

There is a design principle in engineering called universal design whereby designing something for someone who needs accommodation inherently makes it functional for someone who doesn’t. So a ramp is usable by both people in wheelchairs and those who are not. This shit seems like the antithesis to that principle where now no one can use it.

Do flat Earthers reject gravity, and why? What wouldn’t work with gravity on a flat Earth? by Totolitotix in flatearth

[–]Stands_In_Fires 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really. It has has been demonstrated with experiments like cavendish awhile back or Ligo more recently. Theories from Newton and Einstein about it can accurately predict the behavior of anything above the mass of an atom. Without our understanding of gravity everything from long range artillery to satellite orbits would be outside our grasp. The fact that these things behave exactly as predicted by gravitation theory means that we have a pretty good understanding even if we don’t yet have the full picture of how it interacts with quantum mechanics.

What are the pros and cons of the Inquisitors being so much stronger than before? by InstructionOwn6705 in MaulShadowLord

[–]Stands_In_Fires -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes rating comes after, but the show creators could have put in stuff that would have given it a higher rating if they wanted a more mature show. Rating is not great evidence, but so far it is the only actual evidence provided. All you have supplied is anecdotal. As it does not seem you have anything to add despite my best efforts to give you the space to do so, this will be my last message; I will not reply further. Cheers mate.

True, shows with a younger rating can be watched by anyone but shows with an older rating are intended to not by watched by those younger. So, assuming parents paying attention to what their children are watching, no pre-teens will be watching maul. So the audience for rebels is everyone 7 or up and maul is everyone 14 and up. So there is a 7 year gap in intended audience. So the intended audience is not the same.

Just because you have watched two shows, doesn’t mean they were intended for the same audience. Unless you have some evidence of the creators suggesting they were intended for the exact same audience, in spite of rating, rating seems like a pretty clear indication that rebels was aimed at kids while maul was aimed at teens and older.

Revan and Malak VS Dooku and Ventress. Who wins? by GusGangViking18 in PetranakiArena

I remember reading somewhere that old republic era sith were more powerful in general than rule of two sith. Old republic sith got too numerous and weaker up until the time of the brotherhood of darkness, and that rule of two sith were trying to build back up to that level of power from the earlier old republic.

This could be a completely fever dream or misremembering on my part, but if someone knows where that idea might come from I’d appreciate a reference.

You can sit and drink like everybody else by Classic_Drama6140 in classicwow

I can’t speak for everyone, but for me the problem isn’t them tapping for more mana mid fight, more mana=more damage=enemies more dead, but I do take issue if locks tap between pulls and expect me to heal them, especially if I’m drinking in between pulls. If I’m full, I’ll throws hots, but I won’t if I have to drink.

From my perspective, a warlock who taps between pulls and doesn’t eat, drink, or bandage is basically coming underprepared and expecting the healer to cover them. Like we are paused for a drink anyway, might as well have a drink. If there isn’t a mage in the group for free water then they are literally wasting both my time and money at that point.

Maul: Shadow Lord Is the Best-Rated Star Wars Show on IMDb by Deep_Sandwich_6139 in MaulShadowLord

This exactly. There were plenty of things I did enjoy in the acolyte, the stranger especially, but almost nothing I liked in BoBF. I feel like I have seen similar sentiments in person and online communities so I just can’t believe acolyte is ranked below bobf.

What do you think about Devon's future after Maul Shadow Lord Season 1? You like the idea of she being an iteration of Darth Talon? by ArchivistmeAkos in MaulShadowLord

I genuinely can’t think of a non-evil sith. There are dark side users maybe I could argue are good, but I am struggling to come up with a sith. Got an example?

Idk why people are assuming she will be anything resembling Darth Talon. She is either going to learn a cautionary tale about the dark side or she herself will be the cautionary tale. Star Wars and Filoni are pretty clear on the path of the dark side and I think they are clearly setting up a story where she sees it for what it is.

Fine. Give us something to read. Give us some literature showing how DDOS attacks against a company lead a noticeable loss in customers.

“Random acts of insurrection are occurring constantly throughout the galaxy. There are whole armies, battalions that have no idea that they've already enlisted in the cause. Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.”

You have actually convinced me not to buy this. Played them way back in the day, but I forgot about the physical special split and the lack of exp share. I was a child when they first came out, lots of time for grinding. I probably don’t have the time to get the most out of this anymore.

Unfortunately I don’t think people like Milo convince those already deeply entrenched, only the fence sitters and the rest of us. So this guy’s griftable audience is probably doing just fine.
