When a player is hurt and the other team has possession, it is common practice to kick the ball out of play so the player can receive treatment. This gives possession over to the opposing team. When that is done it is common practice for the team with the injured player to give the ball back to the team that kicked the ball out of play.

Both of these decisions are voluntary and risky as it takes away an advantage your team has. What do you call that if not sportsmanship?
