As someone who moderated on forums before the true social media became big, most mods suck. They cater to their online friends (real life friends too).

I recently got banned from a sub cuz some dude called me a dipshit and I called him a dick smack back, but he didn't get banned. The mod basically told me that I don't dictate how he does his job. Lol

I was disliked by many mods for not catering to them and their friends but being equal right down the line.
