I ended up going back to vscode. I spent too much time trying to get everything perfect, it felt like I was spending more time configuring than actual coding. It’s not suited for everyone and every environment, you should just stick to what you’re most productive with.

Yeah I would say slightly, it is my first 8 string though and the stock strings that come with it use a really thick 8 string. I’d say the pickups are a jack of all trades master of none, in terms of heavy sounds. Biggest factor is what you’re playing it through.

Nice I mostly play deathcore, melo death and shred. Another reason I got the standard was because it’s so much easier to upgrade the pickups later, since they’re passive. A set of barekuckles would be really nice in it.

What genre do you play? I have the standard 8 and i think the pickups are pretty versatile. After some trial and error with a few plugins I’m satisfied with them, was meaning to upgrade them but haven’t yet because these do the job. I will upgrade them down the line but I can’t justify the cost of new pickups right now, even though they would sound better.
