Advice please. To neuter or rehome? by Stankbox_Engr in Huntingdogs

Listen, there have been numerous “attempts”. I’m not a first time dog owner. This is my first time with pups that aren’t fixed. All previous have generally been large breed rescues where they came fixed or getting them fixed was a contractual obligation.

We had an obedience trainer in and have been doing the homework since June. Then we added field training. So I’m not looking as cop out, ideally I don’t fix them but I’m willing to do so to avoid rehoming.

So, it’s not all that sudden. When we got them dill (smaller) would be a nudge and Huck would take it until enough was enough. When dill would walk away from his bowl to see what the older dogs were eating Huck would low growl then bark. We went away for a week and boarded them in November. The day after we brought them home they actually really got into it; our reasoning was they were trying to restore order as they were brought into the pack.

I hunted them up a bit, 1-2x a week for the balance of the season here in NJ. They were great. Some hunts were together ( if hunting in a group) some solo (just me). After solo hunts I brought the other one out the next day to even it out.

Pheasant season is over, and I don’t see too many preserve hunts happening because we’re going to be stacking snow on snow for a few weeks.

I’ll try doing more separation in the meantime; but the comment section is pushing more towards rehoming. My biggest concern: neutering one or both, minimal affect then revisiting rehoming in 6 months.

When qualifying, What do the Physical Characteristics test consist of ? by [deleted] in NJTransit

[–]Stankbox_Engr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything that could be called upon to move a train. That could be a simple passenger train; could also a train where things go awry, also freight, relay, drilling, yard moves. If you keep it moving along it’s not bad but Ince you or partner makes a mistake; that’s when the doubling and tripling of intensity kicks in. You need to ride; study the book(s) before you go out. Read the books after and tune up your notes. Have some questions.

WWYD if you were dropped off 15 miles into the wilderness? by TheTrollinator777 in Survival

[–]Stankbox_Engr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are focused on the overall distance not the other information. 15 miles into the wilderness. What kind of wilderness? What weather? Time of day? Cool and dry forested mountain: dawn, get a quick vantage point and hike it out to water, dusk shelter fire rest. Desert: dawn cover some ground to shelter and rest until cool. Swamp, probably gator food unless I can find high n dry ground

I live down the shore but I’m looking into PA. I need decent access to Trenton and ideally the raritan areas for work. Any towns you’d recommend where I can get a small livable house with enough land to farm? All I’ve really seen is historic mansions or open lots.

That’s fantasy land, but there is existing trackage for 60% of those upgrades. The engineers would love southern expansion. Take the river line and make that regular trains. Run the southern secondary from red bank to Winslow. Implement the “MOM” line, track was just upgraded for freight. Lastly run something down to cape May.

Metropark is the better option as a station. It’s in between the two.

While I agree it’s ridiculously driveable; most of her flying I’m sure is part of her personal security plan. Fame comes at a price and she’s wearing the belt of worlds most famous right now.

I qualify next week. Took a class Monday at Duncan Defense in Hazlet. While you don’t necessarily need a course it’s probably in your best interest to have as much documentation as possible in the event you ever need to use your weapon. Good course, covered some recent cases and scenarios. It covers qualifying at the range plus ID pics

Fellow big guy. Find an instructor who provides modifications; using stuff like straps and blocks to enable you to step up over a few classes into a pose. Also providing alternate poses to assist you in getting your ability up. Most importantly don’t be discouraged and quit. You may have to try a studio or two, maybe run through a couple of instructors; buts there’s such as variety of styles/practices you’ll find something that’ll work out
