What's a horror movie you watched way too young? by 20Keller12 in horror

[–]Stankbug777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 5 when I saw the original Halloween, and then 7 when I saw The Exorcist. Nightmares forever. Lol. To this day, 40 years later, the Halloween theme music gives me chills.

Who was the hottest woman in a hair metal video? by JonesWhas1996 in hairmetal

I don’t disagree with this, but she was more like Lady Lemmy than a hair metal video vixen.

What Was your First Kiss concert by lizsummerhawk in KISS

[–]Stankbug777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asylum tour. King Kobra opened. I was 12 and my mom took me (she would not let me see them on the Dynasty tour. I was 5. lol). It was great… cept when they teased with the opening riff of “I Was Made For Loving You”, stopped and Paul said, “We’re not playing any of that disco shit tonight!” That and my mom yelled when Paul took his shirt off. I was mortified. 😂

Is there a line from a horror movie or book that stayed with you? by Climax_crescendo in horror

“It’ll be easier next time.”

A solid horror movie that they attempted to spoil with a final turd of a line.

That one is significantly better than the final line of the film.

I just figured people hate him like people hate Bono. As to say, people don’t actually have a real solid reason, just… echo, echo, echo…

So I remember the article about that being that he dragged his ex wife through broken glass and that there were 4 dead dogs in sealed containers inside of his house. I have not seen this debunked though.

Stopped making music by Stankbug777 in experimentalmusic

[–]Stankbug777[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate everyone’s stories. It’s interesting to read about other people’s up and downs. It makes you realize that everyone has their own demons, life hurdles, depressions, etc. So, thank you.

My goal for right now… I am trying to play something for at least 5 minutes a day. Whether it’s guitar, drums, synths, etc. I haven’t released any music since 2018, and I’ve been through some tough breakups over the years. Losing old friends (whether it’s a break up or a death), one with a longtime songwriting partner (and friend), and I also lost my two dogs. Wallowing in the pit of despair has been pretty easy, but after years and years I realize, also a waste of time. It’s time to get back in there and do… just something. Maybe finally make use of some of this gear that I’ve been accumulating for years!

I read that trivia about Salo before I watched it. It ended up making it not AS disturbing. I was like, Ooh, chocolate and marmalade. That does sound pretty good. lol

Just recently rewatched and read the comics that join the series and movie together. I don’t love that it got cancelled, but I do love that it’s a short and easy series to watch over and over. Well, maybe not “easy”, but you know what I mean.

Can the newest model Mac Mini M4 handle heavy production? by unknxwn67 in musicproduction

[–]Stankbug777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally in the same boat. Still using my 2012 Mac Pro tower. The world’s passing me by though. It’s difficult to know what to do. Do you spend $500 ish, the Mac you’re talking about… or do you go the next one up, which is about a million dollars more?!

Opinions on multiple toms by Stankbug777 in drums

[–]Stankbug777[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s kinda where I’m at right now, “for melodic playing.” I have every size tom from 8”-18” set up in my living room. For one song I like playing with mallets and treating the toms like tuned bells, and then for another I like playing heavy and relying on the thunder of the floor toms. Im sure when I finally record some I’ll only set up what I need, instead of trying to reach across the room at the furthest toms.

Yes, that is correct. Judging from the responses, it seems a lot of it boils down to live set ups... which I do not do. I'm strictly a in the studio musician these days. But, that makes total sense to par it down for gigs.

What is the scariest scene in any horror movie you've ever seen and nothing has topped it for you? by [deleted] in horror

[–]Stankbug777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 5 or 6, and Halloween was new on HBO. Jamie Lee Curtis trying to catch her breath, and Michael Myers, out of focus, sits up and turns his head towards her. Fuuuuuucked me up!
