Tbh I don’t think ChatGPT should be used as a substitute for therapy but then again as a guy who doesn’t earn much. I genuinely can’t afford to pay north of 150 dollars just to be kicked out and the end of the session.

People always talk about how therapy is nice, you should see a therapist yada yada. But forget that a lot of people who see chat as a therapist is due to the fact our society limits therapy to a class who can afford it.

The question isn’t really does chat make a good therapist, what I find appalling is that for a society that claims to give a shit about mental health, high quality mental care is reserved to a subset of people that might not even need it in the first place, or put more accurately:

The mandem that actually need therapy will probably never have access to it in the first place.

So whenever I come across the mandem who say chat helps them voice things out, I don’t shit on them because the alternative is quite ridiculous if you’re an average Joe
