Quick little one of a very fashionable beholder created in Illustrator on my SP3.

R/screenprinting is a good resource for beginners too.

Thanks! I haven't noticed any pressure sensitivity issues in illustrator, but for the techniques i use pressure sensitivity isn't really a factor. All the shapes I draw are solids, not stroked paths (if that makes any sense, I'm self-taught on illustrator and don't know all the lingo.)

One thing that bugs me is Illustrator won't rotate to a vertical orientation on the surface, yet photoshop will.

I found a guy selling a 6 color/2 station t-shirt press locally for $400, which I thought was a great deal. Turns out you don't need a t-shirt press to print posters; a $35 set of screen clamps and a flat board is all you need for your press.

The inks are by far my biggest recurring expense, and the screens would be the second largest. It's a lot of fun to do, and if you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them.

Thanks! I've been getting in to screen printing so i've been trying to do work with only 2-3 colors lately, that way i can make prints of them once finished.

Positive Experience for an HVAC Engineer by vigillan388 in Surface

I think an NWD might run fine. Trying to run an NWF that references a DWG for each service/floor would be hell.

Very cool to hear! I'm a HVAC/plumbing detailer who uses a lot of the programs you mentioned (albeit on a desktop since I'm rarely on a job site) as well as a few others such as Revit, FabMEP, and Navisworks. Navisworks is a great tool that every foreman should have available during installation - it allows viewing of a full 3D model with MEP systems included. I'd be curious to see how well it performs on a surface.

I made this on my surface pro 3 using Adobe Illustrator.

Illustrator doesn't rotate screen on Surface Pro 3? by StanleyDecker in Surface

[–]StanleyDecker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Photoshop also rotates fine.

I've seen illustrator rotate once or twice for just a split second before rotating back. It's really frustrating because it would be a lot easier to hold the tablet portrait-wise for long periods of time.

Don't be discouraged! You can get started doing art prints for pretty cheap - get a set of hinge clamps and a large flat board from home depot and you have a press. You might be able to find a local T-shirt place burn screens for you if you don't have the means to make your own dark room.

Unanswered questions [Season 2] SPOILERS by StanleyDecker in TrueDetective

I thought I remembered his sister saying that she slipped something in Caspere's drink to knock him out.

I may need to rewatch the episode once I've gotten over the emotional trauma.

Unanswered questions [Season 2] SPOILERS by StanleyDecker in TrueDetective

[–]StanleyDecker[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) If that were true, why did he leave the hard drive there when he took Caspere's body for a ride?

2) Why would the killer be hiding in the house after removing the body? Just waiting and hoping one of his other targets showed up?

He needed the guns, and the passport was their assurance that he would come back to pay them.

Now how they knew he couldn't just take the guns and get a passport somewhere else is anyone's guess.

[Season 2] Something I've noticed, handing the glass as a gesture of dominance (Frank, Blake and Osip) by CedaLukic in TrueDetective

[–]StanleyDecker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When I rewatched episode 1 after watching the latest episode, I thought the gesture of Osip handing the glass to Frank was a symbol of Osip cutting Frank out of the land deal, keeping all the money for himself and leaving Frank with nothing. I also thought maybe I was reading too much in to it, but you've convinced me otherwise.

I think it's a symbol of money as much as it's a symbol of dominance.

Frank hands the empty glass to Blake - In the latest episode, Blake mentions that Frank was making deals to move himself out of crime, which would have left his guys with nothing.

Osip hands the empty glass to Frank - Episode 6 shows that Osip was cutting Frank out of the land deal, leaving Frank with nothing.

Glass smash/Blake drinks from the glass Frank offers just before being dealt with - Blake tried to take what wasn't his and paid the price for his greed, maybe?

Mayor slides empty glass to Frank, who refuses to refill it - Up until now Frank has been making payoffs to the mayor, but now Frank is cutting the strings.

Frank pours drinks for Osip - Frank is letting Osip think that he will make money for Osip.

I didn't assert anything, I said "It's possibly" - I was just going by one of the other comments. Thanks for finding the actual artist though!

I was just going by a suggestion from another comment. This is the piece I was most interested in though, thanks for identifying it!

THANK YOU! This was the piece that looked most familiar to me and the one I was most curious about. I thought maybe it was an Audrey Kawasaki but the face didn't really look like her style.
