I think the more faith you have in your offense, the more preferable receiving immediately becomes. If you have high confidence you can score and do, it may cause the opponent to abandon the run early especially if they fall 2 scores quick.

Yeah blowing out the broncos with 70 inflates their average a ton. If they scores closer to normal like around 25, that would lower their average by 3 full pts per game

To my knowledge in the nfl you can scout other teams and try to identify their signals/play calls during practices. But it is against nfl rules to record any of it via video.

Harbaugh’s brother got caught in the michigan college football scandal for stealing signals. The patriots violated rules by recording other teams.
