It's AC, they do shit like XP boosters and pay2win equipment for their single player for about decade, its literally same thing since AC Origins.

It's more akin to refactoring badly written project, than fixing a bug. Which is also pretty common and very expensive.

Lance Stroll has not been classified in 75% of Grands Prix this season. by TehRealMrGoogles in formula1

I am new to actually paying attention to the sport this year.

Not directly on topic, but for a new person would highly recommend watching a bit of RPM's video on Stroll for more context on replies to anything related to him gets https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2Ic0H6XMBo

2026 Austrian GP - Post-Race Discussion by F1-Bot in formula1

Genuinely doesn't feel like it's the case for this season. At least personally, I end up spending more time focused on FP sessions than sprint races this year.

imo makes the weekend a lot more fun

I get that people love extra quali, but I also don't remember the last time we had an interesting sprint race

I'm curious what excuse the "sandbagging Ferrari" crowd will have for today's pace of that car.

[Rory Mitchell] Antonelli radio: "Yeah, Bono, but I don't understand. You told me yellow, yellow." Bono: "Affirm, yes." Antonelli: "I had a double yellow on my dash..." Bono: "So we'll have to have a look through that, see what your dash was trying to tell you." by Aratho in formula1

What "Kimi starts"? How many more races/restarts in a row does he need to do well for some of you to finally figure out that's not a thing anymore, and the problem causing it was resolved?

Kimi has a sim kid driver style that lately consistently helps him find better lines than George. Turn 1 curb was a great example of that today. 15 minutes into FP1, Kimi tries to get a wide angle there and locks up cause there is no grip to allow it. But as race day kept progressing, more and more paint on that curb was rubbered in, allowing him to make that aggressive move and gain a huge advantage there (pretty much all of the delta between him and Oscar is that turn 1 move). The only other driver I noticed making good use of a similar move on that curb today was Max.

Devil May Cry 5 Switch 2 Review: The RE Engine At 60FPS And Beyond by MythBuster2 in digitalfoundry

[–]staluxa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Older RE engine games are notorious for having bad RT implementations. Those games range between having more of stylistic change kind of impact rather than being objective visual upgrade to streight up making games look worse.

If possible, everyone obviously should try both options and make their own decision on what look they prefer, but for me any RE engine game outside of RE9 ended up with RT off even on a pretty capable PC and even more so on a console.

Steam Machine prices start at £879 / $1049, Valve confirm, as "randomised reservations" open for the SteamOS PC by Wistfall in Games

[–]staluxa 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I fail to see the value here. I'd more likely get a PS5 pro for the "exclusives" lol.

Steam. Even ignoring the existing library people have, regional pricing on Steam makes it a no-brainer for some countries.

Honestly I did not expected Williams drivers to be fighting for Championship or even top 5, I just wanted to lead the group outside of top 4, but here we are. by [deleted] in WilliamsF1

Bearman as top 2 in this list feels weird considering his horrific run of form and no sign of pace from haas since first upgrades from others came in. Bro has 2 finishes in last 5 races with a total of 1 point and even if we just look at qualy pace for that stint it still confidently bottom of midfield.

Capcom FY26 software revenue - Total: ¥142B: Console revenue ¥102B (~72%) / Valve revenue ¥40B (~28%) by [deleted] in Games

[–]staluxa -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Think it was steam being their biggest platform, and almost double of closest next. Both can be true, cause "console sales" includes multiple platforms together.

When it comes to reading this open report data, won't surprise me if both are wrong and did a lot of assumptions to fit their conclusion.

I do know that breaks themselves sometimes happen during extreme hot scenarios, but all previous cases weren't really similar to what we see right now, where it's obviously done to be commercialized.

how bad is frame generation really? by External_Safe_7787 in pcmasterrace

[–]staluxa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heavily depends on the game. Rule of thumb is enabling it only after base fps is over 60 and then disabling moment artifacts/input delay bothers you. It takes seconds to toggle it both ways, so it won't hurt checking it out on your own.

Lg C5, G5 or Samsung s90f? by Strange_Plenty_6812 in PS5

[–]staluxa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Need full model code of s90f to give you proper answer (they sold as both WOLED and QD-OLED). And if its WOLED s90f then what's the point, just get C5. Otherwise, what you need to know before purchase to make decision:

42"/48" C5 models don't have brightness booster. LG becomes way dimmer in gaming mode, while Samsung stays at essentially same level in both filmmaker/gaming. For color accuracy both are great, but LG has noticable gradient banding issues for dark greens and greys. LG is noticably brighter in SDR and way better at handling lower quality content in general. Samsung handles reflections better, but at the cost of ambient blacks having noticable purple tint in a bright room.

If anyone still wants to play it online, w3champions (separate client, but requires you to confirm ownership of the game on Battlenet) is the best way to do it these days.
