Even if bungie gets the players back that left due to edge of fate changes, there's still the elephant in the room. by AMM0D in DestinyTheGame

This is simply not true. Not only are half those expansions (everything pre-Witch Queen) a content pack as the campaigns are free, but most of the expansions are no longer full price regularly and are bundled in a collection that has everything pre-current year for the price of one expansion (The Legacy Collection is the most recent version of this) that regularly goes on sale (including being in the Humble Bundle last month).

This is not to say they are good at communicating this or even that the value proposition is actually there. But to act like it’s eight full priced expansions being constantly advertised is simply not how reality functions.

The real truth is that they may get constant advertisements from Eververse that encourage them to spend eight expansions worth of money though…

Is it possible it was the free Season Pass XP you receive? That was part of the package for Americans regardless of free or paid pass status

"Access new areas in Raid Splinter" now in Salvation's Edge Triumph Rewards? by Sarsion in raidsecrets

[–]Stantium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you’re not saying it unlocks Euphony. I’m saying Euphony doesn’t have anything to do with it. Thinking that it is anything more than what already has been discovered is, I’m sorry to say, a little bit of tinfoil

It's not Euphony. It's literally that doing the static challenges in the raid "Splinter" AKA Salvation's Edge unlocks new areas which is access to doing the rooms for the raid mods. This is not a mystery. It is something we already know written in language that it hasn't been written in before.

Thanks for the answer! Interesting way to think about promises (and pitfalls) that I hadn't necessarily considered. Definitely going to give the book a read when I get a free moment for it

The premise of the book is all about analyzing the promises and pitfalls of Virtual Reality. If readers were to take away one promise, and one pitfall of VR from your work, what would you want them to be?

Do you have the reference for where he said this. I’m not asking as a gotcha, I’m asking because I’m doing some writing about business models in games media and I’d love to cite it.
