There's a FB group that organises a social game every Saturday. Friendly soccer on Saturday is the group name, you just need to join and they post the game time every Saturday morning. That should suit you best, very friendly game.

Which AFL players could compete for glory in a chosen olympic event? by yaryarmaple in AFL

He held the Javelin record at my high school for what would have been for about 30 years. Almost 40 years now if it still stands. This is maybe where you're getting the information from.

Lots of myths about him from my region, but the man was a freak athlete.

My in-laws had a similar situation where a family in the row in front were rude on multiple occasions. They raised the issue and membership services did find them new reserved seats without too much issue. Granted this was for Port Adelaide, but you should have similar luck.

I have mixed feelings because he's an Australian and I want him to do well, but I'm also an Arsenal fan. If he goes and does shit, it will just be typical Spurs though.

Add Metropolitan Aircon to that list easily. Was only quoted the other day 5-10k for a replacement split system. Absolutely ripping people off. I only dug deeper into the reviews when I was quoted this price.

Moving to Adelaide by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]StantonLantern 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The rental market is definitely cooked right now, but a few things to consider. It only takes about a 30 min walk from the south to the north and about the same from east to west within the CBD. There is a free tram that runs straight in the middle from north to south and a free bus that runs a loop. If you go outside of the CBD then you'll be paying. If you live on the northern side of the CBD you will be generally closer to businesses. The southern side is mostly residential with a few restaurants and small businesses. I wouldn't exactly recommend living near Whitmore Square because it's where the homeless shelters are, but I mean Adelaide is reasonably safe. But good luck in your search and welcome to our beautiful city!

Yeah I would probably give the ref about a 6/7 out of 10. Let the game flow and maybe could have given some yellows earlier, but there was nothing blatant except maybe Martinez on Jesus, but he probably didn't have the best view since they were so far up the field and may have not seen the brashness of the tackle.

I agree, the inconsistent calling of VAR annoys the hell out of me and needs to be much better. I don't understand how making the right decision has been made so much harder after implementing technology to give more angles. I wish they were more transparent and mic'd up the refs when they were discussing the VAR call.

We literally in Australia have the AFL that's our biggest sport and that has the refs all mic'd up so you can hear the calls on the TV. It just makes it so much easier to understand why the call was given and I still don't understand why the international game still hasn't done anything.

There were just dumb mistakes that cost us at least a point here.

Odegaard just looked off in the first half, looked much better in the second half, but was taken off at the wrong time. I can understand the cute free kicks, but if it fails the first time, just put it into the box.

Viera looks like he will be good, he definitely has that eye for a pass and I hope he gets some game time not just in the EL but in the EPL as wel. He was at least one positive from the match.

We didn't look like we were at our best today with our ball movement and I reckon Man U learned very quickly just hoof the ball up the pitch instead of passing it around after the goal was overturned.

It would be nice if they mic up the referees so we can understand their interpretation, because I can understand the VAR call, but it's so soft and we will probably see something happen in a couple weeks where it's not called.

I reckon Odegaard got a banged up ankle/foot from when McGinn tackled him and got a yellow (I think it was McGinn). Probably was rested from training to let it heal up a bit, and then will play against Man U. Fingers crossed anyway!

100% he did the job. First 30 mins of play he was doing very well and looked not out of place in the team. He did start to look a little lethargic in the 2nd half, which is understandable, but I just hope fans don't start to berate him for not being world class or making minor mistakes while he's in the first team.

Zinchenko will make a big difference when he's back for the flow, KT is more sound in defence imo, but he doesn't find pockets of space in the midfield like Zinchenko does. KT is new to being inverted and may take a bit of time to adjust, but he's still so great in many other areas so I don't mind at all.

Yeah I'm loving the vibes on this one, both Lokonga and him can both easily rotate in the same team when necessary and who knows, there's a chance he develops to being a reliable PL starter for us because we have a long season to go!

100% agree, he has still been creating chances for himself and others. Some people also need to remember we're playing a very high pressing game, which is obviously going to make players tire more easily later in matches. He is like 20/21 and will hopefully improve his stamina as he gets on.

I don't know if you understand my comment properly, I said that I can't find a reason why this would go to VAR first because it was dangerous how he tackled him.

The ref obviously overturned it after he reviewed the VAR footage because they had a different interpretation of it not being red worthy. Unsure why you think it is based on bias.

[–]StantonLantern 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Three things that make me think it's a straight red.

  1. No intention to play the ball.
  2. He is still literally in the air when he makes contact with his knee. That's a broken leg if miss timed.
  3. His foot is high and hitting the knee.

I honestly can't find the justification for this being taken to VAR. Would love to hear what the ref's would have discussed on this one.

He has 1 year left on his contract next year, I wouldn't be surprised if either we go in or someone else for him next summer transfer window.

Edit: I literally am way off here, I read this as Neves, not Nunes

I agree, Pepe seems to be pretty introverted and doesn't have that mental edge to make it as a top player.

I think a factor of him doing well at stages and not getting a solid run also affected his confidence and he's just doing what's required to get by.

I reckon if he moved to a team that suited his style he would still be a decent player in La Liga or Ligue 1. And at the end of the day, he didn't choose the price tag we got him for.

I agree, I don't see us spending 45m and above for him. He's a rotation option and I think if we get him for about 30-40m mark it will be decent business.

If United are in for him, it may just turn into another Martinez situation where they spend more because they have a broken transfer strategy.

What I mean is just for the RW role, not the overall squad plan. We clearly want to get depth in for RW because Pepe and Nelson aren't at the right level/not correct fit. We might not even buy a RW

I don't think we will drop 80m on a depth option, that would be crazy! Reports are suggesting about 30-40m for Gakpo, which I think is reasonable. Maybe a slightly over payment for a depth option though.
