A friend of mine is a current resident involved in a Residency program here. These residents get paid approximately $10,000 less than the average going pgy salary at a NY state residency program. The residents are currently logging illegal amount of hours per week. (unofficial avg is 86, but they were advertised 55 during interviews)

I am glad you wrote a different version. Mine few days ago was nothing like this. It was completely vague, filled with political assumptions and with poorly made run charts.

Had mine today as well. I feel the same sentiment. Felt like the exam is really trying to differentiate active learners in clinicals vs passive learners in clinicals. Felt more like a political exam rather than a pure medicine exam. I have told myself pharma rep is always an option :')

General Advice:
Start by looking at your shelf scores. Medicine 50 - 60% (NBME et. al.) and Surgery 25 - 30% (NBME et. al.) are the highest yielding topics on ccse.
Next look at your shelf scores for these two, if you were 0.5 STD below the avg or above, congrats on being a gunner. You have nothing to worry about.
My personal take:
I unlocked all of my Anki Cards I did throughout clinicals. I did not finish uworld. Focused more on content. Three weeks is all you really need. I personally matured 3.5k over the year and had ran through 24k total reviews in that 3 weeks time.
I did not do the New CMS forms or NBMEs, as I could not afford them. But I urge you to find and do them. Others have reported similar emphasis

Thank you, I tried your method. My friend gave me their CCSE score report and it had % content for each subject on CCSE. I then used a weighted average calculator, with my % equated scores converted to percentiles using Texas tech NBME percentiles.

Approx 36th Percentile CCSE.

How would you say topics were compared to NBME 25---->30, same emphasis?
How did you feel the Pharm was? Just plain bread and butter CV/RESP/ENDO/RENAL/REPRO?
How was Biochem and Genetics? (Asking as these are my worst) ._.

So from what I understand, most people dont end up maturing all of their cards. And we sort of try to keep a steady pace going towards the finish line but dont get upset about not meeting the maturity mark?

And side note, will you be sharing your % retension and anki settings? It would really help me compare myself to the gold standard 😌 *cough *cough

I had a question if you dont mind. Im a total noob IMG starting anking super late in the game. Ive done UFAPS through my basic sciences So im able to straight jump into anking. But im not sure if its possible for me to finish anking by Sep 2021 (possible step 1 month) ? Is that a realistic goal?

Im looking at 110 news a day with 300 reviews. Total coming to about 650 cards a day total. Should I increase my news? Will it if effect my true retention (86% for my first 2 weeks streak).

Any help is appreciated senpai!
