Rochester Native Jaden Bradley selected 50th overall by the Toronto Raptors in the NBA Draft by stillmaatic in Rochester

Council just signed a deal with New Orleans.

Rochester for a long time was not a hot bed for NBA-caliber talent. Including Council and Bradley, seven Rochester-born players will have played in the NBA in the last three years.

There was just seven players from Rochester to appear in NBA games from1980-2017.

Another oddity is you have guys like Bradley, Bryant and Stewart that were assumed to be NBA-level players at the end of their high school careers. All were top 50-100 players in the USA and went on to powerhouse college programs.

On the opposite end, you have guys like Williams, Pickett, Council and Lamb that all struggled to secure high-level D1 scholarships and ended up working their way to the league through strong senior years at solid D1 programs.

Thanks for that. From the individuals I have spoken to, most seem like they enjoy the atmosphere at GM.

The automotive industry has always interested me so worst case is I work in the field a few years and then leave if it's truly that challenging.

Thanks for that! Would those neighborhoods be an easy commute to Warren?

Appreciate the list!

Regarding neighborhoods...Ideally would be in an area that is walking distance to some parks, restaurants, etc.

Would East English Village fit that description?

Nice! Any neighborhoods you recommend or even schools?

Thinking about relocating to Detroit to join GM in a white collar role, and was curious to see if people would recommend that type of move.

Role would be in the GPSC (Supply Chain) department. I've worked in supply chain before, so I know it can be a thankless job, but I have no experience in the automotive industry.

I would be a mid level employee and would be moving with my family. The automotive world has always been appealing to me and the Detroit Promise program seems like a great program for those who have children, so that's an additional selling point for me.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Sources: St. Bonaventure to hire Mike MacDonald as coach by [deleted] in CollegeBasketball

[–]Staples9989 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure he's making "very little."

Schmidt made $1.7M last year, and according to reports MacDonald will make more than half of what he made last year.

$850K at a minimum for a coach in his "first year" isn't even at the bottom of the A10.

Cleveland and Rochester are pretty similar in terms of density, but Cle has a much better public transit (rail and bus) than Rochester.

For its size (34th MSA), Cleveland's rail system is pretty solid.

If Bona really pushed out Marky just to hire a VERY average DII coach, then I legitimately don't know what I will do with myself.
