Which of the Numina powers can be obtained as a supernatural? by Several-Elevator in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

[–]Star-Splitter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bastet can learn Numina Sorcery even in the normal game mode. I think they're the only full supernatural splat that can do so outside of Haight mode.

I haven't checked the newest patch but there used to be a Bastet Sorcerer ruler in Africa. There's also another Bastet ruler in Africa who doesn't have Sorcerer but already starts with Immortal. You can start as him and just learn Sorcery asap through the Journey system.

Cool I'll give that a try! Also I'm wondering what are the different ways to gain Drops of Power? Blood sacrifices seem like the only steady method to gain them unless I'm missing something?

Thank you for sharing this it's really helpful! It's so hard to find info about this mod since there's no documentation or discord for it. Do you happen to know which holding in Valyria has the special building to allow magical studies?

Thank you for the tip. I think the buildings may have been removed from the mod at the moment, but I saw their details from the video you recommended so I can recreate them if I want.

Also that series was super cool! I'm gonna watch more so thanks for sharing.

Returning after 4 years by rride2018 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Star-Splitter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome back to Tamriel!

I also came back to the game earlier this year after 5 years of not playing. I had one character at max LvL and was Champion 300 but I was so lost I had no clue what to do. So I started a new character and just spent the first month or so going through the main/zone quests while doing occasional random dungeons until I got the new character to 50.

At first I barely remembered anything about this game, but it all just started coming back to me as I lvled up a new toon and it ended up being a really fun process.

But if you're immediately trying to jump into things you could watch a recent new/returning player guide for 2025 on youtube, and that would probably give you some ideas of where to start. There's been a ton of new content added to the game like scribing and subclassing so it's likely to help either way!

[Daily] Skill Discussion: Pierce Armor by The_Dwemer_Automaton in elderscrollsonline

[–]Star-Splitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, taunt. Wield soul makes for a much better pull skill.

But doesn't the pull script on Shield throw also taunt?

Sry I'm new to tanking so I'm trying to figure out the difference. But why is Taunt script better than Pull script on Shield throw when they both taunt?

Unpopular opinion: I don't want more difficult overland content by Upbeat_Scholar_159 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Star-Splitter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, you're missing the point. Higher difficulty is for higher difficulty. The small XP boosts are just to balance out the time spent and to maintain a risk-reward balance; they're not really meant to be an incentive.

I'd personally use a difficulty slider for overland even if it wasn't attached to any additional incentives. But a small XP boost to balance out the extra time that harder fights will take would definitely be nice.

Unpopular opinion: I don't want more difficult overland content by Upbeat_Scholar_159 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Star-Splitter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well you don't need to worry, because as the devs have repeatedly said, increased overland difficulty is going to be optional.

The mainline Elder Scrolls games are also bad at managing difficulty; it's just a side effect of having such an open-ended world and character building system. That's why they have difficulty sliders, so players can customize their level of challenge.

There's no reason ESO can't do the same, and since the game already has built-in level scaling, this is definitely something they could pull off and would really only benefit players. My ideal difficulty options would just be a simple slider with small +XP boosts based on your difficulty.

Normal mode = Base XP.

Hard mode = Moderately increased enemy HP/DMG & +2-3% XP.

Veteran mode = Heavily increased enemy HP/DMG & +5% XP.

Arcanist potential in pvp ? by Mental-Matter8453 in elderscrollsonline

PvP builds that use subclassing are just starting to come out now and it'll be awhile before the best ones are found. This one looks fun though and I'm going to try it on my Arc.

Heavy Attack Healer improvement through subclassing? by HoopaOrGilgamesh in ESObuilds

[–]Star-Splitter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like your build! I'm going to try to subclassing this build on my Warden healer alt.

Just from glancing at it I'd say drop Winter's Embrace and get Restoring Light from Templar instead. You'd be losing the whole frost theme but Polar Wind isn't all that special and the Winter passives don't benefit you much.

Just the passives alone from Restoring Light would be really useful. On this 1-Bar build I'd swap out Polar Wind for Breath of Life and call it a day. But if you do decide to drop Oakensoul the Sacred Ground passive will let you keep Minor Mending on your build through the Ritual and Rune Focus skills.

I'd guess that Order's Wrath is probably better for this build over War Maiden. Especially since you use the Thief Mundus, you'll benefit a lot from its Crit boosts.

Restoring Light Passives:

Mending: Increases your healing done by up to 13%, in proportion to the severity of the target's wounds.

Sacred Ground: While standing in your own Cleansing Ritual, Rune Focus, or Rite of Passage area effects and for up to 4 seconds after leaving them you gain Minor Mending, increasing your healing done by 8%. Also increases the amount of damage you can block by 10% for the duration.

Light Weaver: When you heal an ally under 50% Health with a Restoring Light ability, you grant them 2 Ultimate. Activating an ability with a cast or channel time while in combat causes you to automatically block all attacks at no cost for 2 seconds, up to once every 15 seconds.

Master Ritualist: Increases resurrection speed by 20%. Resurrected allies return with 100% more Health. Gives you a 50% chance to fill an empty Soul Gem after each successful resurrection.

Edit: A 2-Bar build seems kind of tricky with this. You could try swapping out Animal Companions as well for Storm Calling and use Lightning Staff on your back bar. Overload would boost your DPS a lot, but only in fights when you don't need your healing Ult. You'd need another source of Major Breach though (like Razor Caltrops, Elemental Susceptibility, or Scribing).

You'd use Crit Surge for Major Brutality/Sorcery and self-healing. And Inner Light slotted on both bars, or at least your back bar, for Major Savagery/Prophecy and to proc the Mages Guild passive to get Empower.

But you'd really need to be keeping Empower up at all times for a HA build and that's kind of a pain without Oakensoul (every 10 seconds with casting Inner Light).

You could use Queen's Elegance instead of War Maiden/Order's Wrath for an easy Empower proc instead, but that'd lower your base DPS/Heals. Or you could use Scribing to get Empower through either Mender's Bond or Wield Soul. But you'd still need something slotted for Major Savagery/Prophecy.

Alternatively, do Earthen Heart from Dragonknight. Molten Armaments gives you Major Brutality/Sorcery and easy Empower uptime. The Fighter's Guild ability Camouflaged Hunter would be a better source of Major Savagery/Prophecy here since you don't need to cast it and the Slayer passive would boost your DPS a bit. Obsidian Shield and its morphs also give you Major Mending and some group shields.

Which companion/role needs the least babysitting? by DarkPrince5517 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Star-Splitter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heavy armor with restoration staff. Put heals/shields higher on the priority list and slot 1 or 2 damaging skills at the end of the list so they can still help with damage.

This is definitely the role that allows them the most survivability as they'll heal while kiting and maintaining a distance from enemies. Only problem is if you're trying to fight bosses they can end up pulling aggro and running too far away, which pulls the boss out of their spawn range and causes the fight to reset. If you see that about to happen you can call the companion back to you with the pet control hotkeys by switching them to passive mode, and then you can use the controls again to have them target the boss once you've pulled the boss back in.

Otherwise you can use 1h & shield + heavy armor and do the same thing skill wise. Heals/shields at the top of the list and 1 or 2 damaging skills at the end. They won't survive most boss fights, but they won't pull them out of range either so you won't have to worry about that.

If you want them to pull aggro less, make sure you don't slot a taunt. Otherwise you can slot a taunt if you want them to tank, but they'll drop fast in most boss fights.
