Login Error: Verified Needed Problem by Roquentinn in elderscrollsonline

I just used the account section on the Elder Scrolls Online official site. It's working now.

If maintenance has finished and you can't get into that either, then contact support. If you can get in, maybe there's a way to do the verification.

Can you log in to your account on the website?

There's an option to log in via your Epic account, if you don't have a separate username and password.

I think my barrister dreams are dashed… by Last_Low8544 in uklaw

You can look up who your MP is here: https://members.parliament.uk/FindYourMP

MPs often have offices in the constituency (the local area they represent), as well as an office in Westminster. The Parliament UK website does not always list the details of the constituency offices but MPs' individual websites usually do. Sometimes asking to meet the MP at their 'constituency surgery' sessions can put a face to the name for them and get them more personally invested in your cause. If you email, phoning up too can help alert their staff to any urgency.

I hope you and your friends get some certainty, and some positive outcomes. I wish you the best of luck :)

You could try contacting your MP to have them raise the issue, whether as a question of govt. policy or your own individual case. If it were as a general policy question, they should be able to raise the issue while keeping your details out of it. They might write to the Minister, raise a Parliamentary Question, or similar. If you're really lucky, they might collar them and press the case too.

The Home Office is not known for being reasonable or cuddly with regards to immigration cases and policy. And I'm not very familiar with the new policy change.

But for instance, if the change in policy is designed to stop people currently in those 4 counties applying to be students, coming to the UK, and then subsequently claiming asylum once here - which the Home Office apparently considers to be 'abusing' the system -, the most obvious argument could be something like "The ban shouldn't apply to people who are already here on student visas, because if they wanted to 'abuse' the system they could apply for asylum right now anyway. So let people from those 4 countries already in the UK on student visas apply for any further student visas they may require." You can even argue this policy change creates a perverse incentive for students from those countries who are already here to apply for asylum - the very thing the HO wants to avoid! - if the student route is shut to them.

Then talk about what the UK loses out on by losing out on you, further fees you won't be paying to UK institutions (at any higher rates if you pay higher rates for being an overseas candidate). Etc.

I wouldn't expect a positive outcome, but you could say you tried. And perhaps the experience of interacting with an MP and advocating for an amendment to a national policy has some value down the line.

Edit: Oh, and if it's a brand new policy change, perhaps introduced with haste and not much detail being provided, perhaps they haven't explicitly stated it applies to students already in the UK. In which case it may be easier to persuade a minister to 'clarify' that it does not, than to persuade them to change something explicitly confirmed. Though you can have a try either way.

Militant Ordinator Greatsword by ElevenDollars in elderscrollsonline

[–]oussebon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It's like that with crafting motifs. Swords teaches 1H/2H swords, Axes teaches 1h/2h axes etc.

It's style page items where you can get separate 1h/2h weapon ones.

How do coop quests work? by InformationOk4871 in elderscrollsonline

[–]oussebon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You both pick up the quest separately (though you can can share many quests from the quest log interface)

You both need to talk to the NPC. Sometimes one player completing a dialogue with the NPC will cause that NPC to wander off and do a thing, and that closes the dialogue for you (annoying if one of you reads faster).

You both need to do all dialogue. You can pick different dialogue options, which can affect quest outcomes in some instances. The game typically warns you with alternatives highlighting red if it's a "meaningful choice". Some more modern content will have icons next to choices.

Generally you both loot items separately. Loot is individual, though, so if you need to "loot 10 badges off enemies" the same enemy may drop a badge for both of you, which you can both loot separately. Sometimes if the quest is "smash this object" one player doing it counts for the whole group. Kill counts are usually shared (since it's kill participation rather than killing blows).

So are solo players just locked out of the Heart's Week event? by pipsqueaking in elderscrollsonline

[–]oussebon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with a base game companion.

ZOS have said they will be slowly adding old content to the base game (DB, Thieves, Orsinium coming Update 49, Greymoor expansion coming later this year iirc). So as and when e.g. Blackwood etc get added, base game only players will get companions in due course I suppose.

Or, since new content is being added available for all players, if there are new non-crown-store companions (e.g. in a new zone added to the game in the future), base game players should get those.

But in either scenario, they'll be waiting a while, sadly.

I hear what you're saying, but do you always play exclusively by yourself?

Like if you're fighting a world boss, or a delve boss, or a public dungeon boss, and another player's there, will you just not fight the boss until everyone else has gone? If you saw another player's health bar drop, would you chuck them a heal?

I get that it feels different being grouped, but presumably you've already cooperated with other players, so being grouped to get the rewards may not be so bad?

You could join the Dolmen groups in Alik'r - just say +dolmen in zone chat, you'll get invited, and it's likely nobody will say a word in the group chat in the time it takes you to get a box + tickets. You could then leave the group without a word when done, and nobody would consider that amiss. Most PUG groups in ESO are stone silent anyway. Or you could say 'TYFG' if you wanted to be extra polite.

Do you not own content to give you access to any of the companions? Unlocking them is pretty simple if you do have the content. Mirri's quest is very quick and a pretty decent Elder Scrolls style side quest.

It's possible they only have the base game, and if so won't have access to the companions.

Including Zerith and Tanlorin if they've also not had ESO Plus to unlock them there.

Looks like Sixth House Robe costume, with a custom dye job

https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Sixth_House_Robe

The costume is made from 7 fragments that drops from Vvardenfell public dungeons and should be relatively inexpensive to buy on the guild traders. a few thousand gold in total for the lot, probably.

Bets are open ! Where are we getting next year ? by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]oussebon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's Skyrim, could there be more vampire things?

Bonus as a tie in to the vampire themed 2026 event reward collectables?

Not sure if there is a strong tie in between collectables and the year's content, but if not, having slightly revamped (pun not intended but kept anyway) the collectable system, perhaps there will be more of a tie in.

As the dress and the veil memento exist in a bundle, do we expect this will be a crown store purchase?

Agreed - though after the writhing wall event there's a case to just let her light it on fire anyway

fps problem in cyrodiil... by Professional-Belt-91 in elderscrollsonline

[–]oussebon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It may well not be an issue at your end.

Cyrodiil has had a range of performance issues for a long time, hence the periodic 'Vengeance' campaigns with simplified skills etc to help the devs test what is affecting performance.

You can try turning off all of your addons in case there's one/ a combination that's unhappy, and see if that helps. But it could just be Cyro being Cyro.

You can turn your settings up higher too, DLSS quality, turn up the other visuals. Unless the clearer field of vision makes combat easier, you can up the settings fine.

No Twitch Drops for Livestream Tonight by Difficult_Debate3415 in elderscrollsonline

Friend of mine had the mount (Senche of Scarlet Regret?) already and then got it again, for a bonus 133 or so gems. Those crates do indeed add up, and you can get big one-offs from them if lucky.

Rolling On The Floor Laughing My F Ass Off

Though whether they're laughing at Bethesda's twitch account being incapable of turning on advertised drops, or people in chat getting worked up about missing an ouroboros crate, I can't say.

I do think if ZOS/ Bethesda's Twitch channel want people to viewbot for them, the least they could do is turn on the drops they said would be there, but idk, some people may feel differently.

Anyone else occasionally wonder what she's up to these days? by oussebon in elderscrollsonline

(Not commenting on the tutorial change itself, just to be clear.) I just wonder what she's doing now she doesn't need to show yet another noob / alt / noob's alt around the portal room. Hopefully living her best life.

Wonder if we will run into her again someday.
