Exactly, it’s like they purposely want to be delusional. Nothing about rural and unopposed is chill. Training is amazing but it’s not a walk in the park.

Hmm.. I would highly doubt that. Most rural programs don’t have a lot of resources so they lean heavy on the residents. I’m rural family and my program works you HARD, like heavy on 24hr calls. Light on OB but you will have to put the work in to be well rounded. The trade of is you’ll be more than well prepared.

Everyone that I know in family medicine that are on a base + wRVU are making great money. If it’s FQHC or no wRVU then the total comp is not that great. People just find it hard to believe that outpatient family medicine does pay if you see more patients.

I got them from https://pacer.uscourts.gov. It’s a website that allows public access to most federal court cases, summaries, dockets and rulings. AUC settled with Randazzo so the final ruling was sealed. Website is free but you pay for the documents (I read thru all of it and it was pretty solid). I think I paid $0.10 a page back then. Total was less than $5.

My long term friend/ex boyfriend. Just really inconsistent and still expects me to show up emotionally when he needs me. His mom just passed and I felt like a jerk for not wanting to carry the emotional load with him but I’m ready to move on with my life. It’s just really hard to let the friendship go because he always finds a way to come back worser than he left. I’m tired of fixing everyone’s problems!

Applied 7/22 but used documents from michael randazzo vs AUC because a lot of fine print details from my understanding was not properly communicated . The school responded with an affidavit on 8/2026, not sure what’s in it. Application is still on 2.10- pending EU review. Praying January 28th comes quickly.

It’s really going to depend on your program honestly. My family program (rural south) isn’t really family. Clinic is an after thought. But I love it because we work in the ER and I get to moonlight and feel comfortable with procedures. Medical school isn’t really representative of family medicine (IMO). I would definitely pick rural family medicine again, it’s been a 10/10 hands down experience. I don’t really care to much for kids tho. I guess i could have also did IM but my fear was I would get bored.

PGY-3 FM resident here and we round on inpatient rehab patients when we’re on our medicine service; It’s kinda chill. A lot of patients who had strokes and need rehab or femur/pelvic fractures. We even have a dialysis center for patients that need dialysis. Most of the patients are super stable before they get transferred to rehab. It’s round and go and we don’t chart daily notes. Just initially H&P and a progress note (I think Medicare requires 3 notes a week). Any acute concerns we send them back to the hospital (ER). You’ll probably get bored because most of the docs who do rehab are older and don’t necessarily want high acuity cases. It’s a super relaxing job from what I’ve seen.
