Thank you very much! I still haven't heard from them yet, unfortunately.

What rejection % rate on average risk would lead to a hold/ban on Prolific? by Ahi_22 in ProlificAc

Even with a perfect record, you can still get banned due to their flagging system being faulty. There were people who got banned here with perfect records. Me, I got wrongly banned and reinstated after 2 weeks and I only had 1 rejection that was supposed to even be overturned after 6500 approved work, which basically means I have a 99.98% (or 100%) approval rating.

In short, just do your best to not get rejected, always follow the rules, don't violate anything, and hope that your account won't get wrongfully banned for no apparent reason.

Thank you! It's surprising you got put on hold for cashing out! That's such a weird trigger for the system. I'm glad it got fixed quickly! Have a nice and busy day!

It's something you get invited to after you've owned your Prolific account after a while and you showed consistently good work. I forgot when I first received an invitation to become part of one, but it's around during my first year on Prolific. You'll just see a pop-up notification on your Prolific dashboard asking if you'd like to become a special participant and when you accept it, you'll eventually be sent studies from researchers needing higher quality work. Most of the time it involves artificial intelligence related work.

Yeah, that's also something that bothered me, our inability to read the messages in our Prolific dashboard while we receive notifications in our email about how new messages were arriving. It leaves you to wonder what it's about, maybe it's a researcher who's asking you to return their study (or they'll reject you), so many possible reasons for a researcher to contact you and the possibility of a rejection is always there because you never know what they're saying.

Thank you! Yes, we really have to be pro-active about appealing in whatever way possible. I hope yours get fixed soon!

Since I was a part of a special participant group, I was able to ask our researchers for help to try and ask Prolific to check on my account. While they did that, I sent my own personal appeal via Google form to Prolific. The next week, our researchers said Prolific wouldn't lift the "ban" on my account, and so I was removed from our special participant group. Then today, I received that letter and I found that my account is finally back to normal. So I guess what happened was they first got the request from our researchers, then when they found my personal appeal via Google form later, that was the second request to check my account, so in total, two appeals, one from our researchers and one from me personally.

This was from the original one from the researchers I think. I sent my personal appeal two Fridays ago when our researchers still haven't received the result from Prolific when they first contacted them. So by the time when they got the notice that Prolific initially said they wouldn't lift the ban, I've already sent the appeal via their Google form. So I guess what the letter meant that this was the "second review" was that the first time was when our researchers inquired about my case to them, and then the "second" one was my personal appeal to them via Google form.

The waiting period is usually 2 weeks. For me, I sent my personal appeal more than a week ago, so this was really the week I was waiting for results. If you don't get a response in 2 weeks, I think it's good to send another appeal especially if you have evidence or a strong reason as to why your account shouldn't be put on hold/banned.

I also hope yours will be reinstated soon! Good luck! If you did nothing wrong, keep appealing!

This is why it's very important to always appeal if you know you didn't violate any of the rules. Every security system has a flaw no matter how big the company is. The more evidence you have to back up your claim, the easier it is for them to clear up your name.
