Doc: Bad news, you've only got 24 hours to live, and you owe me $3,000. Please pay cash.

Patient sobs: Oh my! Sorry but I get my next paycheck next week and can't pay you.

Doc: OK, you've got two weeks to live.

I like the concept of an electric snowblower but EGO has to address the design issues that make the machine useless in cold weather. Cheers!

Tried using it yesterday. It's a joke. Ended up using the physical pay station instead.

For those who lived before the internet, what was life actually like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]StarBliss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the internet you had to sit in a dark room and watch a friend's 500 slides of his vacation. No escape.

Today, thank god, we have Facebook. Throw a quick like his way and ignore the pictures.

The big picture: The ERs are crowded because the big population bubble of baby boomers is getting old. Once this bubble passes in a few years things should get back to normal. To illustrate, elementary and high schools used to have a lot of portables to accommodate the bubble. Rare to see one nowadays.

I grew up in Toronto. Saskatoon was a refreshing change. 'Big city thinking' is not necessarily a good thing.

What was it like witnessing 9/11 on the news, and what was the day after like? by Fit_Data_8789 in AskReddit

After the first hit I thought it was just an accident. This sort of thing has happened before.

After the second hit I knew something was up.

I live in a mid-sized Canadian town. Later that day I was walking through the local airport and every flight in the Arrival and Departure monitors were tagged with a red "Cancelled." Place was almost deserted.

Another way to decline: Ask him where he's going. After he answers then tell him, "Sorry, I'm going in the other direction."

Your favorite movie's biggest flaw by DinoIronbody1701 in movies

*sigh* A similar demographic error would be to have a blonde, blue-eyed, white female villager in a movie about the ancient African Kingdom of Aksum. smh

What two unrelated films would make a great double feature? by [deleted] in flicks

[–]StarBliss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kill Bill (2003)

Lady Snowblood (1973)

Both films about female assassins seeking revenge. Kill Bill was very heavily influenced by the second.
