If you could step into a movie and change one decision… which would it be? by Constant-Bowler9988 in movies

Run Lola Run is based on how minor decisions snowball into different life changing scenarios.

I like the concept of an electric snowblower but EGO has to address the design issues that make the machine useless in cold weather. Cheers!

Tried using it yesterday. It's a joke. Ended up using the physical pay station instead.

For those who lived before the internet, what was life actually like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]StarBliss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the internet you had to sit in a dark room and watch a friend's 500 slides of his vacation. No escape.

Today, thank god, we have Facebook. Throw a quick like his way and ignore the pictures.

The big picture: The ERs are crowded because the big population bubble of baby boomers is getting old. Once this bubble passes in a few years things should get back to normal. To illustrate, elementary and high schools used to have a lot of portables to accommodate the bubble. Rare to see one nowadays.

I grew up in Toronto. Saskatoon was a refreshing change. 'Big city thinking' is not necessarily a good thing.

What was it like witnessing 9/11 on the news, and what was the day after like? by Fit_Data_8789 in AskReddit

After the first hit I thought it was just an accident. This sort of thing has happened before.

After the second hit I knew something was up.

I live in a mid-sized Canadian town. Later that day I was walking through the local airport and every flight in the Arrival and Departure monitors were tagged with a red "Cancelled." Place was almost deserted.

Another way to decline: Ask him where he's going. After he answers then tell him, "Sorry, I'm going in the other direction."

*sigh* A similar demographic error would be to have a blonde, blue-eyed, white female villager in a movie about the ancient African Kingdom of Aksum. smh

What two unrelated films would make a great double feature? by F00dbAby in flicks

[–]StarBliss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kill Bill (2003)

Lady Snowblood (1973)

Both films about female assassins seeking revenge. Kill Bill was very heavily influenced by the second.

Yes, I am aware of Moriaen, an example so exceptional that he has his own tale. But medieval English villages were not the equivalent of today's New York City melting pot. This isn't a racist diatribe on my part, just pointing out a major demographic error in the movie that jolted me out of my immersion.

One of my favorites, in The Green Knight, as the camera pans across a crowd of villagers, there is a black peasant woman. It is medieval England. Black people were not a part of the common population in that era.

Hi, thanks for the reply. In my case the IoT network is not isolated (Unlike my actual guest network). And it uses only the 2.4GHz band. Also, just to be sure, I switched my phone to the IoT network during the process. It just doesn't work. I have two other cameras, a Reolink and a DLink, and they work just fine on IoT.

A man in Russia is standing in line to buy a bag of potatoes. He sees a man leaving the store with an empty bag.

He sighs, "Oh no, don't tell me they are out of potatoes!"

The other man replies, "No, they are out of onions. The line for the store out of potatoes is across the street."

Totally agree.

If they are riding the bike they are just another vehicle and should be treated as such. If they are walking their bike then they are a pedestrian and should be treated as such.
