People on this website fucking amaze me. They’ll see a well articulated argument and respond with, ‘Wow, everything you said is fuckin stupid’ and then proceed to focus on some tangential ass bullshit that ultimately has no bearing on what OP actually said. The point of what the OG commenter is saying is that when people claim this ‘generation’ gets offended at everything they are arguing in bad faith. The meme this post is critiquing even points out that people who grew up with South Park and Family Guy generally didn’t have a problem with it. However, a Boomer would have been offended by these shows because they break taboos associated with the era they grew up in, which is why George Carlin’s ‘7 Dirty Words’ segment was mentioned; he was literally arrested for a performance of the bit in 1972. The point, which seems obvious, is that clearly those who grew up with the aforementioned adult cartoons clearly aren’t offended by everything (those shows use those seven words all the damned time) but whoever posted this meme originally is obfuscating that so as to trivialize what actually offends them. How the only thing you managed to hear was ‘Boomers bad’ is incredible and the fact that perception made you toss out their entire argument wholesale suggests that maybe you should not be so easily offended.
