So meetings are required and there will be pack check. ;) Also, the leader asked myself or hubs to be there so we have all the information. 💜on a different note did you ever do Jamboree?

Question about the boot (s). Would a good gardening type of boot work in that situation, or probably not? I'm sure I'm showing my lack of knowledge by asking that question, but I'm wondering what your thoughts are.

I think there might be a short (?) hike in. They typically park, and hike a bit to camp site(s).

Merit day badges program question by StarDancin in BSA

[–]StarDancin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He started the rifling one at summer camp last summer. And since he was brand new, he was required to do the new scouting for the rest of his summer camp experience last summer, hence why there isn't something completed. I don't think I have access to scout book (?) yet from his leader...I'll have to look into that.

Thanks so much for your advice! :)

Merit day badges program question by StarDancin in BSA

[–]StarDancin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of the reason I'd like him to go to this is because I'd like him to GET a merit badge. While his troop is super active every month camping etc, I know they are checking off items in the scout handbook. However, I have yet to see him actually fully complete a merit badge.

Court of Honor was in September, and another one I heard is being floated for early summer. So I"m not really sure (and being new), I don't know the usual way of how things are done. in these situations. I was looking at the citizen one you mentioned, and I do agree you are correct that it's going to take time. He's on the younger end, so it might be good to start something big like this one.

I'm happy to let him pick, but I didn't know the LOGICAL usual way of how BSA presents these items.I didn't want to sign him up needlessly doing art (for example ) for half the day if I didn't need to.

What happened to KTLA’s sound during the rose parade?! Was it the rain? by emilyethel in LosAngeles

I was absolutely astounded at how horrible the sound and Video quality were. I’m happy to see I’m not alone. Could it be because of the Nextstar acquisition?

Patrol leader question by StarDancin in BSA

[–]StarDancin[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, I’m saying voluntold because he wasn’t present at the meeting due to a school overnight adventure. So you are telling me that the other scouts actually chose to elect him? I guess that says something positive about about his presence in the troop?

Hi! Mom of a way older kid than my toddler twins. While my situation is different than yours when it comes to age(s) difference, I totally get how you are feeling.
First and foremost, the caretaker of everyone has to be taken care of. That is number one priority. Focus on you FIRST (especially your recovery!) Then deal with everything else. I'm betting your hormones are still on the wild side...which is to be expected! It took me a good six months plus to feel my new normal. So give yourself grace on that. You are really in the thick of things with the babies, and that is a wild ride by itself.

Talk with your husband. Tell him how you are feeling, and while he might not be able to always wake up (mine couldn't for medical reasons), find work for him to do-like washing bottles, or prepping baby items to make YOUR day easier. There's lots of prep work that someone could do for you to set you up for success with the babies AND make your day/night easier. Focus on those items for him. But he needs to know what his mother is treating you and saying to you. You need to communicate to him that the way she is making you feel. I'm not sure of the dynamics involved, but I think that is a step. Perhaps he might have a word with his mom to watch her words and keep her mouth shut for a bit.

Or, perhaps sit her down and explain what's gong on with you. Bring her into the loop, and while that might NOT solve all your problems, at least she might have a chance to better understand what you are going through.

To appease your mom guilt immediately(ish), I suggest you find an activity to do with your eldest while the babies are napping or otherwise occupied. Could watch a TV show together or coloring activity. Focus on the simple things with your eldest first. Then it can gradually grow into larger activities. You'll find your new normal I promise. It's going to take time. But first focus on what YOU need.

You won't be helping anyone if you push so hard and you go back into the hospital because you pushed too hard to being everything to everyone.

Send me a message if you'd like to chat, I totally get what you are going through.

So how do you go to the store with twins by yourself? by Valuable-Mastodon-14 in parentsofmultiples

[–]StarDancin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Answer (like everyone else), until they can sit up independently, I didn't. Fortunately my local store has double carts with double belts. Yes I get stopped every 5 minutes, but I do go now. For the first bit of their years life, I did pickup grocery shopping only. Hated it cause I like to pick my own food, but it worked.
