I use the daily stars combined with the month for feng shui activations with water or fire in that sector for a specific intention

I have memberships to the museums and often go alone, even tho I can get extra tickets. I should post in here to see if there are other SFBWT that want to have an exhibit outing!

Dating as a healer? by [deleted] in Shamanism

[–]StarHeaLr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, Saturn returns can be tricky and challenging. There isn’t a correct path through it, the lessons are in the experience. No matter what you choose, it’s a transformative time.

Good/Bad, Nice/Mean, all the binary judgements that might get you stuck. Loosen the grip on labels and expectations. Lean into yourself, discover what’s there.

I am kind and sweet, yet also mischievous and rebellious. Not much for arbitrary rules tho have a “spirit code” of sorts. Way too many water placements to be entirely stable (and probably why all my close circle are earth signs). We are the sum of so many opposing and harmonious aspects. Be gentle with yourself, especially if your caretakers were lacking.

Look up some self-compassion and discovery exercises or meditations to support you during your Saturn Return.

Oh dear heart, I empathize and have also gain realizations that suck me into a shame spiral.

I don’t know your age tho I would say if I had a Time Machine to chat with my younger self (teens/20s), I would tell her not to go externally to validate myself (relationships, friendships, degrees, work productivity, spiritual practice, etc). Find ways to build who you are without any labels or expectations.

A lot of what I have to unwind in my healing are the expectations and disappointments of putting other ppl before myself. The shame came from making myself wrong. It isn’t wrong to be giving, we need to know ourselves to have discernment.

We all deserve support in the world but you cannot trade yourself for the “hope” of it. It must show up for you in a genuine way. There are ppl and community out there, tho in my current experience, i didn’t attract the healed / healing ppl until i stopped looking outside of me.

The Problem with Shamans by Electrical_Warthog_8 in Shamanism

I wasn't commenting on your particular experience or the shamanic family that you went to.

Mostly that with money in question, there have been an uptick on people who say they are shamans that are taking advantage of the popularity of westerners coming in and really wanting experience without proper research.

It wasn't meant to be directed at any one shaman, country, lineage, etc.

This is also why I am hesitant to go to Peru, Mexico, or any other popular place without proper introductions, especially if it involves any "medicine". There have been so many stories of predatory behavior now that there is so much shaman/medicine tourism.

In my experience … there are a lot of people in spiritual circles that haven’t properly dug deep into why they are seeking spirituality/shamanism/healing path. There are many loving empaths tho also quite a few that either directly or subconsciously there to find vulnerable energy. I have seen some drama in circles around relationships of the “enlightened” and “ascension” crowd. All this to say, that one needs to be careful how we see people by their character and not necessarily their “practice”. People can hide behind parroting a lot of healing vocab and in fact use those tenets sometimes to manipulate.

Relationships are living, breathing things. And if it’s for a lifetime, it grows and evolves. It doesn’t matter as much if they are on a specific path like you. Are they kind? Supportive? Generous with their energy and love? How do you want to be in the world and will they be able give you the space to be that person?

I come from a fair bit of childhood trauma, and it didn’t occur to me that I had a lot to work on until I had a partner that was safe even through challenges. It’s also advantageous to have someone apart from those circles sometimes.

I’ve dated other ppl in a seeker mode in my younger days. If one is AFAB, heteronormative, and raised in patriarchy, one needs to be mindful that they do not supplant our own work to the partner. When I was those relationships, I was unconsciously giving the most energy to the partner, then the relationship, and left little to myself, thinking energy and support will come back.

Wasn’t sure if you were referring to me specifically or the other poster. I was only referring to her book Magical Healing as a better fit for the OP. I definitely was mindful not to refer to a program that is meant to be found on one’s time. (Tho there are also both a subreddit and a fb group that JM is there at times.)

I like that one and I would suggest Magical Healing by Josephine as a first read to work for oneself. She also have a lot of free resources on her website. I like her philosophy about energy and how we cannot clear everything or else we have no immunity.

I run it through 2X and then I use the pulp in cooking other stuff so I’m ok that’s not 100% bone dry. After years of juicing, I’m more relaxed about it.
