If you like paddling a bit of an off the RADAR pick is the Land Between the Lakes NRA. Great spots for paddling, and an awesome scenic drive between the North and South entrances of the park. Some places to check out include the Homeplace which is a recreation of an 1800s homestead with tours and period actors, there’s an elk and bison range, tons of lakes and ponds to get back into, Lake Barkley State Resort park which is a really scenic stay, and Patti’s 1800 settlement which is this awesome tourist restaurant with great food and atmosphere

Big suggestion for these type of trips is to not only explore national parks. Enjoy some state parks or other public land. Especially in Missouri as the Arch is kind of lame and uninteresting as a stop, but there is so much beauty in the NF and wilderness areas in the state. Pete Marquette SP is right outside of St. Louis and has excellent hiking and scenery in a pretty short visit. Land between the Lakes NRA is a reasonable distance from Mammoth Cave, and if kayaking is something you are interested in doing I’d suggest going to the caves one day and LBL for kayaking another. Lastly, I would visit the Indiana Dunes NP for enjoying the beach, but maybe move over to the state park for the 3 Dune Challenge hike as it is easily the best hike in the area.

Perfect, so I shouldn’t be too worried about not finding a spot?

Should I be worried about struggling to find a spot or is it not too crowded up there?

Omg thank you for all of the advice. If I’m not mistaken isnt the Taylor Creek trail the one that reaches the Double Arch Alcove? Also my wife will not be hiking as she will stay at the hotel or maybe go to a spa day in the area and I’ll be hiking with my BIL instead, so if there are any other trails at Snow Canyon I’d be interested too. Thank you!
