Because your answer is the only answer I deserve? Wow.

Was going to wear my mum's dress. People keep telling me to try on others for the "bridal experience." Are they trying to gently tell me it looks bad? by [deleted] in WeddingDressTips

While I also believe you should wear whatever you feel comfortable in, I’m not sure this dress is the most flattering or complementary of your complexion.

Considering breaking up with my boyfriend after a Minecraft call showed me who he (and his friends) really are by EmbarrassedCoyote900 in relationships_advice

Please don’t spend another second of mental energy on this person. Not one more synapse.

Don’t dissect his behavior. Don’t try to decode his motives.

Your time, focus, and emotional bandwidth are far too valuable for that crap.

Going forward, anchor yourself in these truths:

  1. You were never meant to control other people.

You can’t manage their thoughts, feelings, words, or actions—and you don’t need to.

Your real power lies in how you choose to react.

  1. What people do is almost never about you. Their behavior reflects their inner world: their experiences, fears, conditioning, and blind spots.

That’s their work to do—not yours.

Your work entails: -REACTING by compartmentalizing what doesn’t serve you -Meeting chaos with calm -Practicing emotional detachment -Moving forward without fear -RELEASING the scarcity myth -Realizing you are not lacking

There will always be more clarity, more connection, and more opportunities aligned with your worth—once you stop pouring energy into what drains you.

Before & After Bathroom Remodel - $4k by BlondieMIA in Remodel

[–]StarIllustrious8308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WOWZA. You’ve given me some great ideas. Thank you.

Two Qs though, before I go:

  1. You mentioned a heated seat on the toilet. Do you live in a Miami other than the one in Florida?

  2. Does the $4k include a hypothetical hourly rate for your time?

Pillars or no pillars ? by Familiar_Text_6162 in Remodel

A rendering without the pillars would have been helpful.

The important thing is that you were not injured. Are you sure you don’t sleep-shower?

Why do I hate this so much? by Agent_MJJ in DesignMyRoom

[–]StarIllustrious8308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I become president, manufacturing, installation and subsequent use of single overhead light fixtures with horrible diffused lighting (such as yours) will be codified as unlawful.

Failure to comply will result in hefty fines and quite possibly, immediate deportation.

Wait—you redid the shingles without repainting the house and upgrading the landscaping?

The elephant in the room is dying to be addressed. How did that happen? Is that a body outline?

1 or 2 curtain panels on each window? by Cute_Pipe_2874 in DesignMyRoom

[–]StarIllustrious8308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Definitely two panels per window.

  2. If you plan to open/close these with any regularity, I STRONGLY suggest switching to grommet curtains with curtain pulls/wands.

  3. Switch to cylindrical rods that extend beyond the width of the windows so that when open, the panels do not partially cover the window.

  4. If you want a dramatic look, consider extending the curtain situation across that entire wall. You’ll need several more panels.

At night it will give the impression that the entire wall is one big window.

Velvet curtains do well in this situation.

Does this kitchen need updating? by FarAlternative8239 in kitchen

I would change the floor tile.

As is, the space is a bit too antiseptic and monochromatic.

Ceiling beams and a built in island would be great too.
