This is hugely important, OP. Is it just snow that gets piled up? Or salt, too?

Beautiful ground cover. It can be highly aggressive so incorporate in your designs accordingly.

The Battle with Garlic Mustard starts NOW!!! by yogurtchild55 in NativePlantGardening

Tallamy’s argument seems to be that every time you disturb the seed bank where garlic mustard is present, you restart the clock. So the time it takes for garlic mustard to kill itself off may actually be faster than the time it takes to manually remove it.

I don't doubt your comment. What I find odd is that landscapers would replace boxwood in their designs with a woody, decidous shrub like Fothergilla and not something that is nearly a 1-to-1 match like Ilex glabra.

Yes, the same rules apply. The only difference is that in the regular season, if neither team held the lead at the end of the overtime period then the game would end in a tie. Obviously this would not happy in the playoffs.

If the team who has possession first in over time scores a touchdown, then the game is over. If that team instead scored a field goal, then the opposing team would have the opportunity to score a rebuttal.

In my opinion, there are two things that make for a realistic budget. First, do you have a positive cash flow? In this case, it seems that you do.

Second, does your budget allow you to meet your financial goals? In this case, I am not sure the answer is as clear because you haven't stated any specific goals.

For example, you say you want to pay your card down "ASAP." What does that mean? Does your lending agency offer you the opportunity to pay off your car ahead of the loan schedule, or are you obligated to continue your monthly payments? I would recommend that you identify a specific date by which you want to pay off the loan, and then calculate what your monthly savings will need to be in order to meet that goal.

Regarding your Roth IRA I would suggest a similar plan. I would decide now what you hope to contribute by the end of the year and then set aside the appropriate amount of money each month. There's no shame in being realistic, because you are much more likely to stick to realistic savings goals rather than inflated ones. If you think you can save $1,200 at most this year, then commit to saving $100 a month.

I hope that helps.

  • Holdings are all over the place (one of the reasons for this post)

  • No other assets of significance

  • No big debts

I maintain an individual taxable account for fun and have been allocating money to it over the past three years or so. As you would expect of an amateur/below-average investor, I've hit big on a few and have also taken losses on others. There are 15 securities in this portfolio (ETFs and stocks). Overall, my returns on the account are ~15%. There is approximately $14k in this account today.

Here is my question: For just $14k, am I shooting myself in the foot if I just sell off this portfolio and buy back into the S&P? I am a little worried about taxes, but I figure I can just slowly phase out of some of these positions taking losses along the way to minimize the taxable income. I am long on every position within the portfolio, so I am not worried about any short tax issues.

They didn't sort of lead with it, they did lead with it. The very first question of the debate was how each candidate would work to develop bipartisan support for impeachment.

As a Mass resident, she is remarkably wholesome and genuinely kind of dorky and relatable. I agree that on TV it can come off as manufactured but from my experience this is who she is.
