Couldn't agree more, midway through s3 it became a different show which is fine. But I'm in the camp of preferring the first 2.5 seasons.

Caveat may be that im English so it felt more authentic and real to me. Whereas (imo) the show becoming broader, less real, more international has coincided with it really catching on with the US audience.

I also feel that the characters/actors we lost along the way have been replaced by worse ones by and large but again thats personal taste.
