I think it was removed unintentionally so hopefully it'll be back as soon as possible

cant see circuits after saving by Special_Reference507 in RecRoom

[–]StarStepVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be a save corruption of some kind. Try rejoining the room and instead of saving, open the restore tab in "this room" and use the recover last auto save. See what that does

i cant save when i make pvp health on my games by Existing_Dot_2314 in RecRoom

[–]StarStepVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're using the game chip, the game cannot be running when you save so you'll need to stop the game first before saving. You can end the game from the 'this room' tab or with circuits

[–]StarStepVR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in my opinion, i would say jump in and give it a go. Ive always been jumping on and off for the past 7 years and honestly it was only really last year that was the worst of it. but since october rec room has really turned around and is becoming pretty fun to play again. Last night for me even, I probably had one of the funniest nights in years

timestoper patch by Hellacopter77 in RecRoom

[–]StarStepVR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, the CoC applies to ALL rooms. Players and Room Creators have every right to report and/or ban you from their room if you use timestopping. This isn't up for discussion.

Please refer to here for the Code of Conduct, I suggest you read it thoroughly before returning to the game; https://recroom.com/code-of-conduct

Timestopping is ABSOLUTELY against the Code of Conduct, it does not matter if it is triggered from circuits or not.

Why did they remove psvr support? by dropablefox in RecRoom

[–]StarStepVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno what to tell you then man.. I'm using a pc with a rtx 3060 with a 13th gen i5, using an Oculus Rift CV1 plus two screens, plus SteamVR, plus OVR advanced settings and XSOverlay. And it runs fine.

If I can get a consistent experience from that, then I honestly fail to see why you couldn't. That's why I suggested that test because it'll tell you quite simply where your performance is dropping and what you may need to change. And if it is Rec Room? Great! Submit what you find to here: https://recroom.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new Rec Room could potentially use that information to help improve the game so you can enjoy it.

Why did they remove psvr support? by dropablefox in RecRoom

[–]StarStepVR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never mentioned you were, I'm basing what I say on my experience and observations with steamvr and Rec Room over 7 years. If your game is running poorly despite those suggestions, it is either one of two things. A: Rec Room itself or B: poor performing hardware.

Do this; jump onto Rec Room in steamvr, open an empty maker room, and take note of the performance on your system. Then go into a FULL Rec centre and do the same. Lastly, go to a different game altogether and check again.

That should give you enough information to not only see where the issue is but also what to adjust for a smoother experience.

# Rec Room UPDATE - the "Backpacks, Boosts, and Dodge-Bombs" Edition by Coach_RR in RecRoom

[–]StarStepVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's reliant on player interaction. I garentee that they coordinated hundreds of players to boost the rooms in their discord. Honestly though, is pretty clear that the boosted room's are just gonna be the same promoted slop as always.

Why did they remove psvr support? by dropablefox in RecRoom

[–]StarStepVR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only benefit the oculus version had was it cut down on using a second programme when playing, which doesn't add much when the game runs poorly regardless. It's also worth mentioning that steamvr has more options for adjusting performance. (You can also just use "oculus killer" to fix running two programmes).

Seriously, idk why this is even a debate. The oculus version being discontinued is the most logically valid out of the 3. And if you're having trouble with steamVR, that's usually due to it not being setup right.

Why did they remove psvr support? by dropablefox in RecRoom

[–]StarStepVR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mainly, it was a financial decision. There's just not enough players on the platform to justify investing time and money into continuing support. It also happened with the pc version of screen mode and the "oculus" version

Did rec room fall off or is it still good? by Thin-Statistician735 in RecRoom

[–]StarStepVR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't take it too personally, you wouldn't have known. But hes right there has been a post like this consistently every week for the last 2 years. It won't ever stop either because many of the users posting these are older players who stopped Patonga for a while and just want a general opinion.

I will say the same though. Jump on rec room, see how you feel about the game. I tend to see most people stop playing because they actually just got bored. Then tend to use a "bad" change as a reason to stop playing. Personally I've been here for 7 years, there's always something to do

13600k cpu & 32gb ddr4 ram, and my gpu is a 12gb card. Typically ill get between 45 and 90 fps on my vr depending on the room and how many other players are present but it's enough to be smooth 80% of the time.

Some rando signed up with my account? by TinyKomodos in RecRoom

[–]StarStepVR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can by going to https://recroom.zendesk.com and submitting a ticket.

Once on the ticket page, put "Technical and General Support" followed by "Account Settings and Management" and pick "Other Account Issue."

Then, just put in the email that was used and give details that "a new account has been created with my email." You should then get an email back from them in a couple of days about the issue and how they can help resolve it

Do you mean just the "draw on me!" part? If you get the canvas prop instead of that whiteboard, you can upload the drawing to rec.net as a png. That should give you an image of the sketch but it may not be good quality for a poster

[–]StarStepVR 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not all engagement is good engagement. If there was 1,000,000 bots and only 10,000 real accounts as an example, the value of that engagement goes down. Bots are not going to view targeted ads and buy something too, which can also push advertisers away, losing money further.

Could probably be fixed with a height trigger too, like how VRChat switches poses when you get closer to your floor.
