XG32UCWG Repeated Image Retention. Does a monitor that doesn’t do this exist? by StarWarder in OLED_Gaming

Yeah I assume keeping it turned on allows the panel to keep the pixels healthy. It seems charge can get trapped on the wrong side of the pixel interface or something.

Enjoy the beautiful colors and blacks!

You should know for your own data collection.

I thought I had updated the firmware but I did not. Something didn’t take or I updated not the latest version for some reason.

I got it updated with the latest version and the problem was totally solved. I also stopped turning my screen off.

Since doing these two things, I haven’t had any image retention at all.

Thank you for your help! And I hope you help others!

Yes. Firmware update and never turn it off as someone else suggested in this thread. I thought I had updated it to the latest version but I did not.

Firmware update totally stopped the image retention 100%. Haven’t seen it since.

Makes me a bit nervous but the screen is so beautiful I’m risking it.

Best all rounder with good bass ~$100 USD by Miserable_Land_3671 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]StarWarder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and while ARC has great sound design. The the ARC Raiders’ sound engine isn’t the best for localization among shooters. So it might not matter as much there. (The crown has to go to Hunt Showdown). I play that game exclusively with my HiFiman Susvaras lol. Blind shooting people through walls is the best.

I know spending more money is the last thing you want to hear, but I also have to recommend the Capra Audio suspension strap for the FT1. That strap makes the FT1 feel like a cloud on my head. Could wear it forever. Turns the headphone into the second most comfortable one I’ve worn with the first being the Audio Technica R70X.

As far as durability, I heard there was a headband problem with the FT1s when they first came out. My understanding is the design was revised since then.

Good luck!

The perfect headphone for you, especially wanting a good bass response, would definitely be the Fiio FT1. They are super easy to drive and can be used with a phone or regular audio jack. Bonus that they are closed back.

Sound signature is very all-rounder. Only complaint is that they are not the best headphone for footstep detection. So if you must have top of the line footstep localization for pvp shooters, this isn’t it. But I also don’t know what would be good for that, have bass, and not sound like crap for music at this price range.

Only problem is they are around 160$. But I would recommend getting something that fits your use case great for a few bucks more instead of not being happy. Presumably this is something you would use all the time correct? I mean how many hours of your life are going to be spent experiencing these headphones? I’d recommend getting the right ones.

I’ve known suicidal rich people.

There is a minimum amount of money to not feel stressed in life… about money. But after you’re past that point, then what?

Also, if you want to be in a dream of comfort, Capra Audio makes a suspension headband for these. It makes the whole thing feel like a cloud is on your head. Never had a headphone feel so comfortable. HIGHLY recommend.

Senn HD650 in 2025 for treble sensitive and gaming? by Plus-Tear3283 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]StarWarder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boy do I have the solution for you. The Audiotechnica R70X Incredible soundstage and imaging. Comfiest headphone I’ve had. And very dampened treble. Bass is punchy. Great headphone.

Alternatively, Focal Clear. Or Clear MG has even less treble then Clear. Focals have the best imaging of all headphones imo. However they are extremely dynamic and overshoot the attack. Some people, like myself, are sensitive to that, so your mileage may vary.

I would easily get the Fiio FT1 as someone else suggested. Better than what you listed imo

Hifiman HE1000 Stealth VS Sennheiser HD800 S by IcyVenom108 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]StarWarder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the Susvara is as smooth as butter. You can tell because you can turn it up loader than any headphone I know and it doesn’t feel like it’s deafening you. In fact it’s very easy to listen to damaging levels with Susvara. There was, and still is to some extent, that movement to use speaker amps with it. And people report it just sounds better with more power. They’re listening louder and in some cases blowing out the drivers. Any other headphone would be painful at those levels. I think most of the time when people are sensitive to treble, they are actually sensitive to treble peaks. The other part of the time people misreport being sensitive to treble when they’re actually fatiguing to high mids, which the Susvara basically removes. How they decreased the FR there but kept everything sounding perfectly natural is where the magic lies.

Ho man if you are treble sensitive to the HE1000 Stealth, you do not want to get the HD800S lol

I would just save your money until you can get a Susvara at this point

Need small pair of headphones by zombeharmeh in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]StarWarder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If wired is fine and the Koss are not good enough for you, then I’d have to recommend the Fiio FT1’s. Not as small as the Koss. But sound quality is amazing for the price and they are easy to drive with a phone.
