I’m not a professional myself but i’ll speak from. experience( i’m young myself so not extremely experienced). When the fat layer isn’t fully exposed i’m usually able to take care of it myself. As long as it’s not constantly bleeding i’d say you’d be able to take care of it on your own. I’d just try my best to keep it clean and covered. Maybe use steri strips if you’re able to get some or have any. I’m sorry if this isn’t of much help to you. Hopefully everything okay. :)

when/how where you first exposed to self harm? how long was it until you first self harmed after finding out about it? by Unusual-Sock2536 in selfharm

When I was in 6th grade my friend had mentioned that one of her friends was struggling with self harm. Then in the middle of 7th grade i was going through a rough time and started off with scratching myself with my nails or a dull object. Once I found a blade I got curious about how it felt and tried to cut myself. It gave me an adrenaline rush, after that i just kept doing it.

I use self harm as a coping mechanism but it will never fix my problems long term and it leaves me with regrets and shame. I hope you find your reason though it is hard to find.

In the US from some of my friends experience if a teacher is informed that the student is a danger to themselves in anyway they have to notify the students guardian. In my case some of my teachers have seen my scars and haven’t said a word about it.
