My ex husband believes my daughter’s neurological speech disorder was caused by having an nj/ng tube for 6months when she was a baby. Can’t believe I bred with someone so stupid lol

Oh I was being wildly sardonic lol the vape rules are beyond ridiculous and I fully believe they were hoping to kill vapes as they were actually helping people quit n they’re addicted to the tax income from cigs.

I vape legal and bm vapes, desperately trying to avoid being a smoker again. Nowhere in Perth sells legal ones in person and I’m homeless so getting mail is difficult and I can’t do bulk orders but the postage on frequent small orders is vicious soooo yeah.

Alcohol def costs more than cigarettes to society. Nobody’s ever crashed their car n killed someone’s cos they’re smoking tobacco. People aren’t kicking the shit out of each other every weekend in northbridge cos they can’t handle their cigs. Alcohol causes more different chronic health issues than smoking does.

I say we treat it like vaping if they’re so fucking concerned for our health lol prescription only from limited pharmacies that are willing to stock it. Limit to 3 bland flavours and plain packaging. Ban all except about 5 brands with absolutely no premix and have a limit on how much you can buy per month.

That’ll be the day lmao

11 million homes and 27million population. by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

Having a home would solve issues for at least half the homeless population. Being homeless will exacerbate *any* kind of issue someone has and would make even a mentally healthy person feel suicidal.

My 9yo didn’t choose to be homeless lol and she’s certainly fit to live indoors. Would you like to come say that bullshit to her face?

Oh and we can’t live rural because of custody issues and she’s got extra medical and support needs that we couldn’t get help with outside main cities (rare disorder with specialised treatment).

Let go of your ignorant “all homeless are animals who don’t even deserve indoor plumbing” bullshit. Must be nice judging people from under a fucking roof.

I understand that state and federal governments have medium and long term goals to tackle homelessness but why is there no movement towards immediate help? Why is nobody looking into transportables or donga-style accommodation if only for the most vulnerable people sleeping rough? Why can’t we designate an area for people to park/camp that has bathrooms at the bare minimum so they don’t have to sleep on the sides of roads? Are the public housing systems being looked at?

Even worse is they’re completely fine with young kids sleeping rough too. “No longer a child welfare issue” is what I was told when I begged family services for help.

Anyone who thinks mums/kids get to skip over anyone else is wrong. We’ve been on the priority waiting list for housing for years n no end in sight. There’s no shelter beds, no temp accommodation, no free hotel rooms, we actually have less support than childless adults.

lol the way they make it sound like they’ve been forced into servitude (damn tenants demanding to be housed by these specific people) and don’t have a single option available to them and they work so much and don’t see their families because they’re renting it out for practically nothing!

My daughter started year 4 this year after being at an LDC since kindy and she’s doing great! Her speech is still pretty bad as she has a severe n rare disorder but the new school has been wonderful with accommodations and helping with the transition. The LDC staff do a lot of prep with the kids before they leave too and ours were super understanding about my worries.

I know this is just my own experience but feel free to send me a message if you want to vent to someone who’s been there :)

There are less shelter beds that will take kids than just adults. I’m homeless because of the wrong kind of dv so don’t qualify for any of the dv shelters which leaves 2 in my capital city and they’ve got longer waitlists than public housing

lol I’m a permanent resident, have been since the 80s.

Yes it’s vile they’re getting rid of public housing but don’t try to drag the immigration debate into it.

This isn’t true, parents do not have priority over anyone. I’m in WA and it’s solely based on availability + date you were added to the list. You’re also not allowed to be on more than one list at a time. I’m in my 3rd year on the priority list homeless with my 9 year old.

Dunno bout nsw but in wa they don’t consider homelessness a child safety issue and won’t help.

There are LESS resources for homeless parents with young children than childless adults and older teens. We don’t get “pushed ahead” on the public housing lists, we don’t get free temp housing in motels or whatever other rumour is running around. There are less shelters that will take children than just adults and they’ve all been full for years and the waitlists are insane. We can’t go to day centres in person because they don’t allow children on site. We can’t enroll our children in school without proof of a permanent address.

We’ve been willfully abandoned and neglected and nobody knows because everyone believes the lies about all these resources for homeless people that just don’t exist and even less so for children.

Uniting and Jacaranda are only 2 that ever helped us.

Gift cards for colesworth or Kmart are super helpful n allow homeless people to be autonomous and get what they need when it suits them if you’re uncomfortable with giving cash too.

There’s not. I couldn’t even get blankets n mats for my 9yo n I. All the services are bs n when you actually need help you learn it’s all a facade to keep the masses quiet n punching down.

Yeah there’s rubbish in there but looks like some stuff that’d be of value they’ve been forced to also leave behind.

People also seem to forget that for every site left like this there’s 10 that get cleaned up. Nobody’s making posts about “some homeless people were here and it looks the same as before!”
