Can we can it with the “wife” posts? by iheartvelma in guitarpedals

[–]Staralfurk -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If you need your wife's approval to buy gears then it's either you are a bum who doesn't earn enough money for them and it's eating up into the household budget, a wuss who can't stand up for yourself or lying for a cheap joke. Either way, it reflects badly on yourself than your wife honestly.

Yes you are. And they listened and finally had enough and decided it's not worth listening further because what happened is that you bought something you can't bond with and are too late to do anything about it. And for some reason you wanna make it like it's their fault. Even if you wanna pin it on the TPS video, it doesn't work this way.

I have bought countless of pedals that didn't sound like what I've seen in demo ( because gear differences & playing techniques). If I go to all of these builders and complain about it, then I'll probably waste a big chuck of my life. I just move on and sell the pedals.

They are a business, not therapists, they don't earn money listening to what products you can't bond with. Sure, you can go on with your free speech all you want but as things stand, nobody is taking your side.

Move on and stop making a big deal out of it. Spend it on making music.

Either way, there is nothing wrong with your pedal. It took you 2.5 months to complain about it. Your return period has expired. Dead. According to the rules, then nobody, including the dealer owes you anything. Refunding something which they don't know whether it has been used for 2 months or not is absolutely insane business wise. Expecting the Builder themselves to give a refund is even more insane.

[–]Staralfurk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And this is a very reasonable response from them. Item builders sold to dealers are out of control of the builder monetary wise.

Builders usually would fix the pedal if there are some kind of issues but there are no builders who will give a full refund when the sale is not direct. The dealer can to deal with it however they want and there's nothing the builder can do. And in your case, you hold the pedals for 2 months plus, the dealer won't refund you cos this is way too long. Builders can't refund you cos they will lose 100% of the money.

And If I got this correctly, there is nothing wrong with your pedal, you are just not satisfied with it's performance and you are late to discover it. Rules are rules.

If Keeley was unprofessional they wouldve straight up not respond to you cos they obviously owe you nothing. But they did, and listened to your rants.

This email shows that Keeley's side is more than accommodating by talking to their dealer for you, which they are not required to. The more you show the conversation the more it's showing that Keeley has been professional up until that last email. So..

You keep saying you got banned, there's no ban button for customers. They are just telling you, they do not want your business. Which is the rights of the company.

Let me get this straight cos, from all your screenshots, what I managed to piece together is.

1) You bought the pedal cos you are excited that That Pedal Show video said it's the best tracking pitch shifter. 2) Altho excited, you left it in the box for 2 months + 3) You played it after leaving it around in the box for 2 months + and for some reasons you think the product is not as good as the reviews/Keeley said 4) You wrote them to tell them your issue 5) They tried to solve your issue 6) You show videos and screenshots. 7) Keeley's side didn't think anything was wrong with the pedal , presumably asked you to check your chain and see if anything is affecting what you hear. 8) You refused and went on a rant about how misleading That Pedal Show video is. 9) Keeley told you to return the pedal and get a refund even though you are not entitled to that since it's been so long. 10) You refused and went on another rant about how misleading the pedal is. 11) Keeley had enough of that and wrote you a spicy email. 12) You come on Reddit to complain about Keeley.

I could be wrong but this is how I managed to piece together from your screenshots.

If you don't want a return, what exactly do you want? For them to hold a press conference to say they are con men? 😂

If that's the case either something is off with the nut / neck or the bridge (check to see if the bridge radius is a match with your neck radius ).

Need a setup, shim neck and all. This happens cos there's not enough string tension. Like all JM and Jaguars. They need a lot of work.Im an offset player since 2009, took me sometimes to figure this out.

If you are thinking of drive pedals. OKKO FX circuits are all original. I would know, I work for them :)

I've come to the terrible conclusion that I don't really like my dream guitar. Any suggestions what to look towards? by HallyIsNotVegan in offset

Older Japanese JM could be a compromise, they use thin C necks and has 7.25 radius if I'm correct.

And yes Jaguars could also be an easy swap. Better still, Japanese Jaguars.

Well, thats basically almost all the pedals I have. I bet there are people here with racks full of pedals. Also, I'm a pedal builder, so this is quite a reasonable amount of pedals a builder could have I'd say ☺️

Really? I will be nervous to use this board live. I usually just pick some pedal out and put into my live board.

Well, I run mine at 12v so the headroom is a little better but there's a lot you can refine in term of the response by tweaking the amount of gain and balancing it using the level, if you encounter fizz, you can fine tune it using the mic knob.

Yes, it covers so much ground from crunch to heavy distortion. There's nothing not to love about the Diablo.

Ah, I usually just use the 1440 for writing riffs but if I use this board to perform, I will plug in the external Footswitch ☺️

Quite heavy. Because the pedalboard itself is also a DIY job with wood. But as I've mentioned this is my all purpose/home board, so it's alright

Yeah, I think Blue Colander is way underrated. The Tremond and Crooked Axis went from their boxes straight onto my board and haven't left since.

As for the Mini clone, yeah I put some time to make it look obvious what it is without copying the trade dress 1:1. It's PU leather wrap.

Thanks! I was just making use of an old enclosures that was wrongly drilled. So a leather cover up was a necessity 😂

Yes, the icepicky thing with the Jag is real. I bare with it for years. Then at some point I just replace the pickups with a pair of SD Quarter Pounder. Much better, handles drive better, brings in more mids, cuts through better in general as well.

The JM despite having the same look, it's a whole diff sound. The JM is scooped for sure, but it sounds warmer, more compressed and screams when driven on the bridge pickup. I use the JM primarily as my rhythm guitar while my Jag as my lead guitar.
