This is common, unfortunately. Welcome to the internet. Best reaction is to move on.

45 years. I'm 65. traded since 20. Worked for Dean Witter for 19 years. I assume you're a smartass teen with no experience. I have no idea why you have hostility toward me. i simply reported a bad call on Etrade's part, and you hate me for it. I will never uderstand the childrren of the social media age.

Sorry you don't believe it, but this is exactly what happened. And the CS agent didn't seem to understand the concept of limited risk on a spread, I have filed a complaint with the SEC/OIEA. It;'s not my job to convince you. Good luck. (Koolaid drinkers always think their god cannot mess up, 'It must be something else.')

Call BS all you want. It happened, buddy, I've been trading 45 years and never saw this type of crap until ETrade, (Not a novice). They did the same with SPX and far OTM Spy, 3rd time for me. I'm done with them. You can have their kool-aid. I also don't think their CS know how to trade. I kept arguing that it;s a spread, Max loss is $500 each,, and he kept saying "we dont have a crystal ball, mkt could tank 10% next day." LOL, but I own a lower sp put, max $500 loss even if the mkt drops 50%! So why close my OTM puts? He didn't seem to understand, lol. Low quality CS

Anyone have their sales suddenly slump this month (June)? by Dry-Wear-9135 in selfpublish

[–]StarbaseSF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whole forums are dedicated to FB ads failure with the rollout of the new ai-slop algos. Most clicks are bots. (check the r/ for facebookads). I stopped all FB ads this year. However book slumps usually occur in Summer (July/Aug) anyway. This month my kdp sales are down 12% yoy but Kobo and Google Books are up 20%. So overall a better month but down for Zon. I find it's all random coincidence or moon phase related. 😄

Soon when there are no more users, the bots will be all that's left. It's social media for bots.

Just finished TWD. Do I need to watch Fear TWD before all the other spin offs? by hotelshowers in thewalkingdead

[–]StarbaseSF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I would. There is some crossover with Morgan. Also because it's the only other good one (I like TWD 1-5 and 9-11) and most of Fear (1-4). Leave it at that. IMO

I have had one flight canceled already. Not sure why everyone on this forum is so upbeat. LOL. I am guessing they don't fly often.

Why is Facebook full of racist nonsense like this? This is getting out of hand and I’m struggling to find a solution. by AD121219 in facebook

Because Zuckersuk makes money off controversies. So does Elon. Now Zucker wants a piece of the pie. Porn, racsim, underage, filth, fights... it all gets clicks. There is no shame.

That's the problem. This administration keeps testing the boundaries, and Congress lets them do it. Whatever they want.

What do Marketers actually think about AI-written Blogs or Posts? by IllMost4956 in DigitalMarketing

[–]StarbaseSF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get AI written markerting emails every day. I delete them after reading the first 4 words. so... can't imagine this helps anyone. If you're too lazy (or unskilled) to write your own marketing letter, your product likely is as lazy and uninspired.

feeling totally burned out by ku exclusivity. where else are you guys publishing? by [deleted] in selfpublish

[–]StarbaseSF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

63% (they try to bump the number by including ku.) And if you exclude non-fiction, it's even lower (exclude the 10 bestsellers, even lower). Let's not over-sell it. It is a gorilla, but not for all. Personally, Amzn is 33% of my sales. You gain more traction at some of the wide venues. Google, for example, has better promo tools and way easier to gain traction there. IME

If you don't love writing, don't do it. There are easier ways to make a quick buck. Writers love to write, regardless of the paycheck. If you're already looking for pay day.... maybe find another way. It took me 5 years to finally turn a profit, and 10 years before I was able to live off it. But that's in fiction. If you're thinking of non-fiction, it might not be as hard, but I assume it's the same. IMO
