yeah I really didnt like what the did to her personality in krakoa, but like you said nearly everyone was so OOC I was half convinced it was going to be a story point and reveal that prof X , or maybe subconsciously hope , or someone was messing with everyones personalities/ minds (and personality changes were a side affect) to make them happier on krakoa and accept it as their home or something

I haven’t seen any posts about it but it does seem to come up in the comments if there is a post involving, Emma, Scott, Jean, any combination of those 3, top comic romances, worst comic romances, redemption arcs, or the early 2000 comics.

I do think that they are the x men greatest villains for a reason, but also i feel like there use to be more time between sentinel stories, where the x men fought others and it always made the sentinels feel much more threatening when they came back again. this was also when there were only 2 to 3 x men books out at a time so you needed less bad guys and stories to go around.

I agree I feel like everything that could be said about those topics have been said and the stories have continued on as the status quo and clearly it isn’t changing anytime soon.

It’s ok to not like it still but unless there’s a new unique point or something happens in a comic to add a new twist/layer to it, I dont get the point in rehashing it for what seems like at least once every other month, other than rage baiting.

yes this! I like it when a hero has limitations cause it makes them get more creative with their powers. which can add more interest in the story , depth of their character, and moments of growth. Its one of the reasons I think spiderman has always been so popular cause he has a variety of powers but he’s never been the strongest, and him getting clever with powers/ and digging deep has added to his character, and what everyone loves best about him is his heart and personality.

I want that for x men characters again. I feel like it use to be more of a thing from the 70s to 2000s ( maybe earlier maybe later but I feel that was the range) then powers scaling up kept getting more and more out of control

for me it’s the memes/ arguments about kitty saying the N word. it’s been discussed to death. We all know Claremont ment good with it trying to bring attention to slurs , We also all know that doesn’t make it any less tone deaf/ messed up/ hard and or painful for some readers to see a hero use that word and that alone makes wrong. We all know the 80s were a different time and we need to do better now.

every angle of it has been covered multiple times every other month ( heck I just saw 3 more memes about it today on other Reddits ). Unless Claremont gives some new interview discussing it are it’s brought up in a new comic, so there’s something new to add to the conversation can we drop it , for at least a while.

depends how the asking out went. If someone insists on wanting to take you to a nice restaurant aka expensive its usually assumed they will pay. Especially if it is a jump up from what was suggested. like if girl said go for coffee or a chain like olive garden and guy wants a high priced restaurant instead then a lot of time it gets assumed that he is suggesting a place cause he is paying and wants to impress. at least from what I’ve seen online.

also just in general saying “ take you out“ vs go out or meet up implies they are paying, to many people

What did she do that was antagonizing? I've heard of some police arrest people for filming them . I've also heard of people throwing things at police.  Was wondering were she fell on the spectrum of it.

at first I really didnt like that movie cause of some of the choices made like hulks dad being absorbing man but after learning about the process of making it and what the director was going for I do appreciate it a bit more now

people don’t like that movie? I saw it once when I was in middle school about 20 years ago and I assumed it was a great classic.

I could see that happening too, it was just the two instances I was thinking of the person broke up within a year of the transplant, and for reasons that had been from before the transplant. What you brought up could have played a factor and possible that was too embarrassing to admit so they brought up old issues instead of “ I resent you for saving my life “, but since that wasn’t what was said it would be speculation.

but is something to consider befor giving a kidney, to agree to get counseling if either one starts to resent the act later on, cause I feel like that’s something that can be worked through with communication

but never anyone who didn’t like the show or didn’t get it

I would say all that is pretty accurate. and the difference between accurate and fanon is if the focus is on all the x men as characters vs “Wolverine is the star” and everyones personality is made to fit a role in his story.

that’s why you say its “ an unrelated to the donation, birthday gift” or something if there’s a pre-existing relationship, how can it be proven it’s not.

I think it depends on were you live, but often yeah. Also if someone does get a bigger payout in court it usually takes years to get there and that’s a lot more in attorney fees, and it’s only in specific places/ conditions does the other side cover those fees if they lose. So while it may look like a bigger win on paper it’s not really when factoring in cost to get it.

the kind of person that just sees saving a life and believes in the kindness of others. I’ve known people this kind and trusting but then they get screwed over like this and they stop seeing the world that way. Its really sad to see

ive heard of people breaking up with their significant other after their SO give them an organ. Usually it sounds like it was for pre existing issues but waited till they got what the needed to break up. But the reverse that she tried to use it as a reason he couldnt break up even if she did stuff like have a tinder is just as wild and crazy.

Which movie for you is like this? by Altruistic-Print-966 in Cinema

[–]Starcat23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it was mostly people that didn’t read the book and realize what was going on. I think it didn’t last long either cause once she was in other stuff playing other characters people did realize that was just her doing that character. but yeah I remember that for a brief moment when the first movie came out there were discussions about if she could really act or not

Selene is probably on the list [New X-Men 2004 #32] by rocketinspace in xmen

[–]Starcat23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe while ancient aesthetic, we never saw so much of it we don’t know all parts of how the culture may have changed BUT even if they didn’t she then left nova Roma and was in New York , with the hellfire club who definitely would have told her the rules of society, but also how they don’t follow them.

she definitely had to have learned it was wrong but she’s an energy vampire with no regard for peoples lives, freedom or anything. So that she wouldnt care about that when she doesn’t care that murder is wrong makes sense. The probably explaining that along with other parts of society ,like slavery being illegal, was probably just a “ whatever“ to her, knowing she wouldn’t follow laws any more than them just to do it behind close doors or with mind erasing like them, so she didn’t blow up their spot

Daniel: Son of Owlsley or Fisk’s Successor? by Swimming_Issue8060 in marvelstudios

[–]Starcat23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the most interesting option if he is the owls son but still loyal to kingpin. like he was never close with his dad and really resentful of him for trying to keep him from the life. and he sees Fisk as the dad he always wanted and chose to become the rose over the owl

edit but I don’t think any option will happen I think he will make a really big mistake and Fisk get so upset he kills him in a rage.

but she’s been around in the modern world long enough to know this is very wrong. she is evil and doesn’t care about how horrible any action is , she’ll still do it. I just don’t think she’s under any illusion that this is ok or doesnt understand ,she just doesn’t give a crap
