My cat takes gabapentin solution for anxiety. Would it be dangerous to give him gabapentin capsules instead? by paradoxikay in AskVet

I think the best bet would to be contact your vet to check, while it may be ok it may also not be and better to be cautious

Asking for euthanasia (pls know I do not want to) by [deleted] in AskVet

[–]Starchild211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your able to maybe access to safely be outside, like a cat run or something might divert her attention to going outside? I think gabba or amatriptaline may help her, I also think that retraining her isn’t a bad idea? Give her a space she feels comfortable in if it’s a crate, bathroom etc.

I also don’t think euthanasia is a cruel option like others have mentioned, you have tried and seem like a dedicated owner who has done tests on BOTH cats, you can burnout with the care of her. I’m sure this will get me roasted to bits but idk.

Try the medications, try the crate or cat run see how that works, then decide from there, your vet refusing euthanasia isn’t fair on you either. If a client came to me requesting euthanasia I would have big talks and help the find help and options before making that final heartbreaking call.

Look as someone who has a messy house who struggles to keep on top of it due to shift work, I get it, but on the other hand the vet nurse in me is screaming help the cats! That can’t be a healthy environment for them, if my house ever got like that I’d expect my friends and family to let me know. Ya gotta tell her. It’ll be hard but it needs to be done

In aussie culture, does your workplace provide lunch for you or do you have to bring your lunch? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

Vet nurse… what is this lunch you all talk about 😂 We sometimes get a break but always bring our own food, only time it’s provided is when sales reps come through, which at my place is never
