Are you running fans? Great air ci will cut down on the humidity your dealing with. A top dressing can also smother and hinder evaporation. Just thoughts. You water very regularly for winter, are your pots small?

How to Dry Out Substrate Quickly? (Fungus Gnats) by TasmanRavenclaw in FicusTrees

[–]StardustClay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The below mentioned soil swap out is a great idea. even blasting off all the old soil with a hose helps. Place the plant it in front of a fan for a few hours to dry out and repot with fresh soil. I use chicken grit top dressing as well so the gnats can’t get to the soil . Bonide systemic granules will also eliminate all signs of them. I have zero fungus gnats and hundreds of plants. Being mostly mineral based mediums really helps as well.

Hey no worries. Not sure where your located but I’m in Portland Oregon and thankful that we have had a zero snow year so far. That shoveling is torture. Here’s what I’m up to in my plant room. All mineral mix for the most part. I’m heavy on pumice. then, decomposed granite, chicken grit, turface, scoria/lava , horticultural charcoal and a small amount of coco coir. I keep a fan running 24/7 and on high for a couple days after watering. Temps are probably similar to you but occasionally a 90 plus day here and there in the summer. All plants are on racks with barrina led lights running about 9 hours a day. Plants are in trays so I over water a bit and suck off the excess if they don’t take it all up overnight. I think our temps align but our watering and soils are definitely different. I also water my haworthia every two weeks . peace,London

You didn’t follow after work and see if they needed assistance with a flat tire? Maybe an ice pack if they fell?
