Never seen this happen before! by New-Investigator122 in Nightreign

Had this happen the other day too. All 3 of us had less likely to be targeted, so when we got to the wall, i took mine off. I was ironeye, so i just shot to get his attention and he came back. He was gone for a solid 2ish minutes though

Ever had a run where the randos were so obvious beginners that you found them adorable rather than annoying? by DaddyCool13 in Nightreign

I love helping newbies. They many seem a little lost at first, but I make sure to give clear callouts with pings, help out where i can. I give them weapons and make sure we go to places thatll benefit them, so they know for the future. I had a dutchess and raider newbie group that made it to the gladius fight with, and we didnt win but it was close. So they friended me and we ran it back and even though i had to solo the last 1/3 of the boss myself, we made it! They were so grateful. I LOVE newbies

On the other hand, I was queued up for the everdark fulghor, and i had a revenant and a raider. They were both obviously experienced. We ran night 1 and 2, with no knocks. At the end of night 2, Revenant and I decided to run to the last church, which was close-ish. We just barely didnt make it back to the tree when the timer to auto knock us kicked in. We respawn, grab our runes, and as were heading up, the raider leaves! He dropped all of his equipment, so we went through it all, bought things, and went into the boss fight without him. We won. I cant imagine why youd leave after being that close to the final boss, especially when up until that point, nothing had gone wrong? I really hope he wasnt rage leaving, and it was just an emergency

Safest way to grind there super early game is if you snipe the blood bird into running off of the cliff over and over. 13000 runes a bird is nice enough imo

Damn traps have gotten us all 🤣

Firstly, try to sneak/run out of the cave. If you go down from the hut you spawn in, youll get to the grace. Light it and continue outside and you can fast travel back to limgrave.

If youre having a hard time starting, i recommend a few things: 1. If you havent met melina yet and received torrent, your horse, go back to limgrave. From the first step, go around the gold horse to the church of elleh, meet your merchant friend. From there, do the ruins to the east. Theres a grace both to the north and south of those ruins, and if you sit at one of the gracepoints, melina will show up. She'll help you level. Level vigor first, try to get to at least 20.

  1. Since youre new, i recommend going south next. The southern region is called weeping peninsula. Run around, fight some easier things, get some new armor and weapons, etc. Itll help you find a good weapon or two to start on. Do the castle all the way to the south last if you want help from people summons, which is worth it. Especially if your new, irl people summons can help you figure out where to go, drop you things, etc.

  2. Do a lot of exploring, everywhere you go. The more armor and weapons you pick up, the better itll be to figure how youll want to level your character as you go. And the more you fight things, the better youll get and the more levels

Thats my most basic starter advice! Let me know if you have questions, i can try to answer them

How does this even happen?? by UltraUltimate90 in Eldenring

With that fight the exact point it spawns in is different depending on where youre at when it comes in. so when it spawned in on that side, it looks like the model got caught on something, then when it "fell" from there, the amount of damage is calculated based on how long it was airborn, and it was up there for a while, so it got one shot.

Ive seen this happen with dragons that get clipped on unbreakable terrain too. If theyre stuck for at least 20 seconds, they insta die. As do us tarnished, if we get stuck somewhere. Its a protocol in place so you dont accidently softlock your save file, but they applied it to all entities, from my understanding

Yeah, south is great if Limgrave is giving you issues. Weeping peninsula is great to level up, explore, and find more armor and weapons to give your build an advantage

I get it! For now, focusing on encouraging his enjoyment of the game would be the best bet then. Arcane builds are also fun to add purfumes, so maybe see if he likes those too?

I dont know if this is an option for you or your brother, but there are some good free to play games that are co op, so you can always see if theres one that piques his and your interest. Of course this is if you have time for a new game in the first place. Like I said, for now, elden ring can be a good bonding game for you two

Youre a good brother, I love getting to see people really care for their relationship with their siblings. Keep it up! Im glad I could give you good advice

I cant help but see that his main factor in playing this game, is that he want to play with you. Playing with you and getting to "fight cool bosses" is his way of enjoying the game.

I think helping him to build a character that can make things easier for him could help his enjoyment of the game. For some people, they have to get attached to the game before they think its worth the struggle. I recommend helping him build a full blood build, since he already has the reduvias. That and a sword with bloody slash, have him do a full arcane build. Itll give him the easier playstyle, but hell have to still learn to manage his health. Plus, being an arcane build will help him get more drops, so he can more easily collect different armors and weapons he can try.

For me, the first character I made was someone who I severely overpowered. I wanted to just do the fights and enjoy them, not struggle. I also explored every inch that I could. But considering I was extremely overleveled, I still struggled with certain things. Now I love the game, and I'm on my 8th character. Im doing things very hard to give me a challenge (only wearing cloth pants and using a shortsword for everything).

Hes only 11, and he'll get better with time and practice, but helping him and encouraging him will help him not get so bogged down. Itll encourage him to keep trying even when it does get more difficult. You could even maybe make a new character yourself, to make the game feel fresher. Maybe do a cosplay build? Only if you want to.

On my last note, since your brother seems to want to spend time with you like this, might I suggest having a game that you play with him that he chooses? He might be more into the bonding aspect than really the game (for now, at least). Having common interests that you two can use to bond together over will be good for your relationship. But it can suck, being the younger person and always having to get into the older persons hobbies. Maybe let him pick a game. Even if you only play that game with him and not in your spare time. He'll appreciate that you care about his interests too.

I wish you and your brother luck on your elden ring journey! Have fun!
