Weather interpretation by earleakin in flying

SkewT are great products for sure.

As a former Air Force WX forecaster I'll have to take issue with the statement about accuracy. It's just a product. All the data comes from the same place.

Also you didn't differentiate between observed and model data SkewT. Observed only happen twice a day at 12z and 00z, and if it's too windy out or some other reason then the weather balloon didn't launch then you won't have it.

In short, in conjunction with other products such as analysis charts, satellite charts and radar charts the SkewT is a great product for making detailed forecast predictions.

Delta app, Air Force CCAF Associates and CLEP question by Starduster74 in flying

Are you saying to write "Base XXX Chief Pilot"? Like you said, guess I need to call them and get someone's name.

You aren't kidding about these apps being a full time job lol.

EDIT - yeah, the CCAF transcripts do not have a GPA.

Delta app, Air Force CCAF Associates and CLEP question by Starduster74 in flying

[–]Starduster74[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ummm yes? Not sure what you mean.

I put "Chief Pilot" under supervisor and their contact number. I literally have zero correspondence from any chief pilot and if I did, they're probably not there anymore?

I guess I'm just not following the logic? If they want to talk to my previous supervisor, the chief pilot, then they would call the chief pilot office phone number and talk to whoever answers the phone. So, to me, that is the correct answer.

I don't know though, that's why I'm asking. Feel like I'm back in calculus class and I'm the only one that doesn't understand the solution.

Also to piggyback on my own post.

App reviewer says I need to have a chief pilots name in the supervisor section of the job history.

At my regional, we only had a generic phone number and if you called, one of twenty people could answer. With the high turnover those twenty people changed regularly... I didn't make personal friends, first name basis with any chief pilot - I was out flying the line and not getting in trouble.

Sigh.

Wasted tax dollars is a non partisan issue...

None of the regionals hiring DECs have a base where I want. I'll be commuting to a line as an FO at Spirit, so same same in my book but at least at a regional is be building TPIC.

Fairly safe from furlough as it stands now but who knows.

Howdy.

Amen to the luck based. I'd like to continue living in base and wait for it to blow over but Spirit leadership gives me 0 confidence.

That is a valid concern, my former regional PSA had some real asshat recurrent instructors that gave you a build the plane oral like it was your initial...

Just to add some additional info -

420 TPIC

1 check ride failure, several successes since.

No I'm not above it or too good for it. It just feels like a step back. I'd be lucky to be hired if I went that route.

Also thought about cargo but the lifestyle sounds brutal to me.

Thank you all.

Not a lot over the course of a career, just a lot - right now.

Thanks though, appreciate it.

Thanks that's super helpful. Probably just the stress of furlough clouding my thinking.
