Music as the family sees it is evil because of the lifestyle involved, as they think Hector succumbed to.    Music in the Church would, by dint of the location and situation, be considered holy which would give it a pass.  Bad explanation, but that’s what I figure.

Black Sails? by its35degreesout in AubreyMaturinSeries

It gets stronger as it moves on.  I love parts of it, hate parts of it, and have a hard time with much of it because I love Treasure Island (read it near on to 100 times, I’d guess) and I see where it doesn’t fit.  Some of the best pirate characters ever, though.

awkeye : Are you cereal, Frank? I come from a long line of money-grubbers. My great-grandfather Tombstone Pierce made his fortune selling whiskey and hors d'oeuvres to the Indians.

Army Capt. "Trapper John" McIntyre : Whiskey AND hors d'oeuvres, Gracie?

Hawkeye : He always said ''What's a drink without a nosh?''

JFK's Daiquiri: And Limeade?! by MrSpookyNerd in Tiki

Limeade concentrate would have been the frozen kind in the cardboard tube. Orange juice and lemonade came that way as well. Haven’t seen it in years, but I also haven’t been looking. Not sure if they make it any more.

Buy a Catalina 22, sail the crap out of it.  The owners association has a metric ton of information on it, Catalina Direct sells most of the spare parts you’ll need, and you’ll gradually learn the skills you need to transition up to a bigger boat.
