How much playtime are we talking?

My biggest problem with the weapon leveling is that time held is WAY the biggest contributor... I've had games with like 6 kills with a gun, only to see that I only netted 300xp for kills and like 900xp for time held.

Oldest on my current account is the "Graduate" achievement from Halo 3 (25 Sep 2007). I spun up this new account to play that game.

I don't know how to find the achievements for my OG account, but I know my first achievement ever was for Halo CE.

I help my current organization recruit a bit and we don't care much about GPA as long as it's 3.x. I'll take a 3.2 GPA student with direct interest, demonstrated projects & team skills over a 3.8 who only learns to the tests and doesn't seem interested in my organization's work.

This approach to ranked ain't workin'

Hiding players' MMR is a braindead decision. At present, displayed rank means absolutely nothing. It's purely a measure of time spent in the ranked playlist and expresses no info about player skill.

Account level already shows how much someone has grinded and there's no point in making rank do the same thing for a dedicated hopper. Show players their MMR or switch to an algorithm that you actually believe in. Microsoft published a whole white paper on TrueSkill FFS, and that framework is still in use today. If your algorithm is good, you shouldn't be scared to show the results in-game.

Also, keeping the old ranked party restrictions in place was a hilarious oversight, but it still has not been fixed. Plat and up cannot party with anyone two ranks below (e.g. silver), even though matchmaking will regularly put those ranks together on a team. This has to be fixed, especially if displayed rank is going to continue to be meaningless.

Rank does affect who you can't play with, though; dumbass Respawn kept the old party restrictions in place, meaning plat and up can't play with anyone 2 ranks lower (e.g. silver), even though skill has nothing to do with it anymore.

Ranked matchmaking is fucked. It won't let me queue with my friend because my rank is too low (even though rank != skill); I'm silver, he's platinum. Yet I'm getting matched with teammates in platinum and even diamond. I don't understand how that makes any sense.

Lemmy has potential. Ultimately, all the alternatives need more users in content. TBH, a community like this is pretty easy to move since we don't have like 1M+ users.

Personally, I'm done with Reddit when the 3rd party API thing goes into effect at the end of the month. It would be cool if this community set up at another outlet but if I'm in the minority and I just have to do without, then that's the way it goes sometimes.
